Missed a few easy shots this quarter. Just win last 3 minutes

And ND has had 3 shots sit on the rim and fall in.

I wanna see Anna but it doesn’t look like she’s going to play tonight

Late in 3rd Qtr - What is Coffee doing? ND drives, she does not step in front and challenge the shot but steps back making the ND shot even easier.

That is the liability of Coffee. She sets good screens on offense and can defend posts. But all you need to do is screen a guard on her and you have easy buckets all night long.

She got in, but Notre Dame continued on an 11-2 run to close the third. Alright now, down by 6, let's do this thing.

With 1.2 seconds to end of the third quarter, why not throw in to the rim, hoping for a foul?
What could be the down side, unless you throw it beyond the court, which is sorta hard to do.

No field goals for Smith or carrongton this half

It feels like it's over. We're not getting those rebounds we were in the first half.

It was a lot to ask for us to execute that well for four quarters - we won the first half by exceptional rebounding and excellent defense, but that takes energy. And I feel like once we let them back into it we lost confidence in our shot, and then got deflated. But hey, I'm pretty happy that we took it to them for a half.

It seems that ND is crashing the board at both ends & we're not.

“TNL” (‘til nothing’s left). We worked hard but it wasn’t enough.

I think our post play - Sarah on defense while better than Maya on offense - ND figured out how to exploit.
Nadia Fingall would have made a big difference.

Agree. We weren't going to make the final four with a somewhat injured Dodson and Coffee defending guards.

Will we see Maya in a boot on campus this week? I bet big money yes. If she were even 50 pct healthy we would have seen her have more time in these games. Wishing her and Nadia lots of great recovery.

45% from 3. That's the way to go out. Top 8 finish is as good as we could resonably expect. I'm proud of this team and I'm stoked about the future.

The larger issue is that we only really had three players who were offensive threats. At all.
Notre Dame could press harder, and reach into passing lanes, because Dodson wouldn't look at the hoop from the elbow. Because Hulls and Coffee are really only catch and shoot threats; if they're not facing the basket, play 6 feet off them. And because Alanna Smith disappeared for the entire third quarter. In the play by play, she's mentioned 6 times. One defensive rebound. Two missed shots. And three fouls.
I have one real question. WHY DID WILSON NOT PLAY? You're constantly getting beaten off simple screens all third quarter. The Irish guards are in the lane, and your bigs aren't hedging well against screens at all. Maybe you should play the best ball defender over the last month?
No, this team wasn't going to compete for a championship; watching the two games yesterday, and the Baylor blowout this afternoon, makes that clear, they didn't have the horses. But I sometimes wish Tara would back off the reins on the horses she has.

The team made it as far as I thought they would. A final four would have been happily accepted, but unexpected.
I got my hope up after the first half, but knew USB would start hitting their shots. I had the sense that we would need to get hot from beyond the line to win it. Surprised a bit at the difference in the final score as we were unable to stop them.
I also thought the winner of this game will beat Yukon.
Good season, and next year may be our year with the players that are coming. I think Jones and Belibi have a chance to start. I'd add Williams, Carrington, and a Hull to the starting lineup.

A really outstanding season. After last year, I didn't really think we'd do quite this well this year. And we were oh so close to doing even better.
Preseason we were picked #2 in the conference & #7 nationally. Despite the loss of a key player and the non-return of a last-year starter, that's where we finished.
Congrats to our fine young ladies. To the seniors, you've surpassed your expectations. To the others, you've got some fine new players coming in, so I know you're going to work hard to get as much playing time as this year, to the betterment of you and the team.
Thanks to the team, the staff & the coaches, from a fan.
