Wrestling still going on 27 minutes after ESPN said they'd cover the game.
The Spanish feed for ESPN3 on Sling is terrible video. Jumping forward and back.

Looks like she bumped her knees when she ran into a Brink screen. But she's back in now.

We are off to a great start leading 24-11 after one quarter; UCLA's defense has broken down on a couple plays including one where Kiana had such an easy path to the basket that I thought they had stopped play.
Onyenwere has 9 points on 3/6 shooting and Miller has 2 points, but everyone else for the Bruins are scoreless.
Also, I can't believe we've played a quarter and wrestling is just wrapping up

Good start, 24-11 after 1 quarter. So far, they only have one threat. We need to steadily increase the lead to get it to 17+ points at the half. We started off hot from 3, but are bound to cool off.

Well, after worrying about brawl ball the refs are making some tight calls. Against us.
Anyone want to explain the intentional foul called on Brink. Yikes!
Good guys are doubling up the baby bears though so no worries. We’ll smoke these guys.
43-20 Stanford

What a fabulous first half. Williams is on fire. Brink got dinged unfairly, but better it happen in a blowout half than at the end of a tight game. I marvel at how we have demolished teams the last several games. Hopefully we can keep this up in the second half--a 23 point lead is not insurmountable, but our defense looks oh so good. It will be hard for UCLA to come back against that.

We lead 43-20 at halftime, thanks to Kiana's hot start, 16 points on 6/10 shooting and 4/5 from long range. She is just rising to the occasion.
Close let Onyenwere back in the game and the UCLA offense is basically just her right now as she is accounting for 13 of the Bruins' 20 points. Everyone else for them is 2/15.
A little concern is that both Brink and Prechtel have 2 fouls each.
We are also doing an excellent job keeping them off the offensive glass, as they have only 2 offensive rebounds and we have 7 o-boards.

A comfortable 23 point halftime lead. As long as we don't go ice cold, this game is ours. As long as we have a 17 point lead at the end of three, we can pretty much make room for another trophy then.

After UCLA killed Stanford on the boards in January, Stanford outrebounded UCLA 26-13 in the 1st half. UCLA has only 2 offensive rebounds. Great defensive half for the Cardinal.

Pivotal play in the second quarter: Wilson positioning herself perfectly and taking the charge from Onyenwere. Forced Onyenwere to the bench. Wilson is a stud.

That Bruin fouled Brink's elbow with her mouth.

Intentional foul? Give me a break. What a terrible decision by the officials.

It was a call to help the Polar Bears get back in the game. If it's a close game, I don't think they call it.

NCAA WBB rules: No way should that be considered an intentional foul. Missy should have overrule the others.
Art. 3. Action of a player's arm(s) and elbow(s) resulting from total body movement as in pivoting or movement of the ball incidental to faking with it, releasing it, or moving it to prevent a held ball or loss of control, shall not be considered excessive
Section 13. Intentional Foul
Art. 1. An intentional foul is a player-contact foul which, in the judgment of the official, is:
f Illegal contact caused by the swinging of an elbow that is deemed excessive or unnecessary
An extra problem is that if she gets a technical or 2nd "intentional" foul, then she's out of the game.

Ref (who was not in a position to see it), didn't even blow her whistle until the Bruin turned around and put her hand to her mouth. 'twas ridiculous (though I feel a little bit like we jinxed it talking about Jayne's "foul" in that UCLA game).
And that weird foul call on Haley just for putting her arm in front of Onyenwere? That's something that would've been called 4-5 years ago, but I haven't seen it in the last couple of years. Very weird in this tourney...

Fooey, it looks like the refs have gone into mercy rule. No fouls can be committed by the lower scoring team, and being in the vicinity by Stanford is sufficient to call a foul.
That's by 3Q 7:56.
5:53 Is that 4 straight fouls on Stanford when UCLA has the ball?
Plus an offensive
5:09 another foul on Stanford.
