RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - M T - 03-23-2021

I feel like we squeaked out a 15-point lead in the first half with a lucky/skillful 7 of 11 9 of 13 (NCAA "live" stats weren't quite live) from 3.
We've shown our weaknesses. Prechtel is slow and not a good defender.  Sloppy passing.
But we've shown a strength in hitting uncontested 3s.

Each team has 7 players with points. Stanford has 6 players with TOs, 4 of them credited with 2.

OKST has relied on Mack for their offense up to this game.  Tara has drawn up a game plan that has shut Mack down, thanks to great play by Brink and Belibi.  I don't think any team that relies primarily on one star player will win this tourney.

P.S. Is Brink just fearless, or what?

Yes, terrible call. Defender was not set for even one instant. Just caught up with Brink and stepped in front.

What is it with our 3rd quarter funk? This seems to be a habit.

Similar call against Lexie.

The announcers have repeatedly discussed the "Stanford triangle offense."  I guess I don't know what the triangle was--I thought we left that when Chiney graduated and we are doing Princeton with all those cuts.  Or are we doing both?

And how about Jones hitting 2 treys!  That was the only part of her offensive game that had been missing.  No way anyone scouted that.

No triangle.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - M T - 03-23-2021

A terrible call against Kiana!!!!

Another poor end of quarter play, but Anna probably isn't the one to handle such a play. She seemed unaware of the clock.

This game is not over. At least we are ok in fouls

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - CompSci87 - 03-23-2021

Word hasn't yet reached the ESPN coast that Stanford doesn't run the triangle anymore.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - TheFarm07 - 03-23-2021

We lead 61-50 after the third quarter as OK State went on a 12-3 run to cut a 20 point lead down to 11.

More worringly is that Kiana landed awkwardly while attempting to block a shot and limped off the floor.

If not for a scorching long range shooting (13/19), we well could be losing this game. We are not playing at a high level right now.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - 81alum - 03-23-2021

Well, giving up a 0-10 run and getting Kiana hurt was a really really bad way to end the 3rd quarter.

We have given OSU hope and now the 4th quarter will be contested, and starters will need to remain in.

And we have to hope Kiana is fine.  Got a glimpse of her taking off her shoe on the training table.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - martyup - 03-23-2021

We gave up 23 points in the 3rd quarter.  We let them back into the game.  The lead is down to 11.  15 turnovers.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - BosCard - 03-23-2021

Please stop turning the ball over.  Seems like half of Ok St’s points just come from live ball turnovers. Stanford player slips, Stanford player too casual with the ball, Stanford player throws ball way too low for big to catch.  Come on Card.

At least 3 of those should be credited to the refs.

With 8 minutes left, count the fouls from here on out.

Whew!  Kiana back.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - martyup - 03-23-2021

Jump hasn't joined the scoring party yet.  Goose egg.

Our shooting percentages are good 53/65.  Better from 3.

Only one shot so not a big surprise.

50% from the charity stripe is not good.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - M T - 03-23-2021

It seems we've had almost no interior offense.  Our cuts aren't working.  Our posting isn't working.  Thankfully the 3s have been falling.
If they don't fall, the long rebounds could lead to fast scoring by Oklahoma State.

It seems we're trying to work inside now, but not yet successful.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - martyup - 03-23-2021

Are they going to start pressing?  I would.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State Rd. 2 6pm Tuesday - mbdude - 03-23-2021

Ok is shooting 51%. We have just made more 3s
