Texas with a 9-0 run; Stanford in a 3 min scoring drought.

We do not deserve to win this game. So sloppy and poor execution. Team had made no adjustments.

That was a dagger. Texas has gone from down 5 to up 7. In that time, we are 0/4 with three turnovers.

Yep! And I put that on the coaches, we can't have such a drop off in recruiting at that position. Unfortunately, not the first time either that this has happened.

Sometimes the other teams are recruiting too. We were a finalist for Fudd this year but she chose UConn, and Rice for 2022, but she chose UCLA. What’s the solution to that? Recruit harder?

So the recipe to beat Stanford is thug ball.

I knew this would come down to who could hit a couple of 3s at the end. It looks like that will be the difference. TX hit them and we did not.
Win or lose this game, we have a mountain to climb if we want to repeat.

Contests involving Stanford teams this year are getting tough to watch no matter the sport. They always look just a touch off their game and far below the normal level of their program over the last 10-15 years.
Now I am just hoping for one NCAA team title this academic year to keep the streak alive.

Well, if you're going to lose a game it's better to lose your second game to a ranked opponent. We can fix what cost us this contest.

Yes, that often is the answer. DI WBB has become a very physical game. It's hard to complain about it because that's the way the game is officiated.
Jones might be the best candidate for point guard except she sometimes gets too out of control. I don't know what the answer is.
If I was voting in a poll I might put Stanford out of the top ten until they show something better on the court. Past reputation should not be that big a factor once the season has started.

I think Stanford got out-coached in this game. Texas controlled tempo from the start. Stanford did nothing to change the flow of the game defensively and struggled all game with the same problems offensively. Coaches need to put their players in positions to be successful. That clearly was not accomplished from watching this game. Erratic player combinations and no sense of running plays for Brink or Jones who need to be facilitating and taking the shots. Disappointment all around but especially with the coaches....

Where to begin? Poor (really lackadaisical at times) ball handling leading to turnovers, stalled motion on offense, poor outside shooting, missed layups, bigs need to be more aggressive rebounding, especially defensively - LOTS to work on - in Tara we trust....

Before you go that far, watch some other ranked teams. Louisville and Arizona didn't look any better.

We were NOT a finalist for Fudd. That is incorrect. I'm still very salty on this game. On a day that was supposed to be celebratory, the game was just such a buzzkill. The first big game with fans at home in such a long while and honestly we just sucked. I'm sure we will get better and who knows what the rest of the season will bring but so disappointing coming off our National Championship. I know Kianna Williams is missed and was incredibly vital to all our success last year, but WE HAVE SO MUCH TALENT STILL and didn't play like that was the case for practically the whole game.
