However, if we have one of those 3rd Q let downs, it should be starters only. We need to learn how to snap out of that funk more quickly.
I think a lot of the time, Tara is just trying out combinations to see if certain players will do better on a given day. For example, is Lacie or Wilson working out better at pg given the opposition? Our bench today has scored only 1 point so far except for Wilson's trey. So perhaps these starters are indeed our best group against Gonzaga on January 9.

Whoa. Is that Magic Johnson on the floor for us or Anna Wilson?

Twice, on the live stream, clicking on "Live" is repeatedly putting me back to a lot earlier in the game. I had to restart the stream. A couple of times, "Live" has worked as it should.

Yes, the feed is weird and unreliable. It still says it is Stanford against Cal Baptist. And then when going full screen it sent me back to ads or much earlier in the game. Strange and annoying.

We lead 52-37 after three quarters, it hasn't been an impressive game offense-wide. We've missed some shots around the basket, especially Lexie, who's been more mortal this game.
However, we are playing solid defense and doing enough to have a 15-pt lead and extending it after each quarter.
The bench, despite seven in the game, only has 8 points between all of them with only one made FG (a three-pointer by Wilson)

Is there a forcefield in front of our basket? Feels like we've missed about two dozen bunnies in the second half.

We've gone cold in the 4th. Only 3 points in 5 minutes. Here we are in one of those funks. How can we snap out of if?

Tara should tell the starters that they're being selfish by taking potential game time from the bench by not widening the lead. This is such a team-oriented crew that I actually think the guilt might motivate them...

Is Hannah Jump's 21 points a career high?

Pretty terrible shooting tonight. But, we didn't need to shoot well as our D held the Zags to 50.

Jump, Jones, and Brink gave us the points we needed, and there isn't a lot else to say. Not as dramatic (fortunately) as the game in Spokane. Lexi must indeed have used up her shooter's luck against Oregon but she will get it back again. It is nice to have a team which has any number of players who can step up in any given game. Friday was Lexie's turn, today was Jump's.
What I really liked was 5 turnovers for the whole game. One of our best outings in that regard. And don't look now but our free throw shooting has been improving--9/12 today. 12 assists on 25 made baskets--not that great, but it reflects Gonzaga's strong defense and maybe a few lessons about forced passes against Oregon.

We win 66-50.
Hannah Jump led our scorers with 21 points. I want to take the time for a shoutout to her. She has gone from a three-point specialist off the bench to an important starter contributing not just with her three point shot, but playing good defense annd adding variety to her offensive game. It's been a pleasure to see her development and she has worked her way up to being an important part of the starting lineup.
Brink had a good game as well, 14 points and 16 rebounds, which again, underscores the numbers she can put up, if she can stay on the floor and minimize her foul issues.
We only had five turnovers and grabbed 24 offensive rebounds. Unfortunately, that latter stat was due to us missing so many shots, we were a mediocre 32.9% from the floor and 24.1% from long range. Our offense did not look sharp today.
Gonzaga also started getting a lot of o-boards, often getting second or even third opportunities at the basket and ending up with 16 offensive rebounds.
Even though we outscored them in each quarter, it was a little disappointing that they kept within striking range late in the game, forcing Tara to keep her starters in. I believe all of them was still playing at the final buzzer despite the 16-pt victory. It would have been nice to extend the lead early in the fourth so that we could protect our starters and give the bench more playing time.
It was interesting to see the bench play much more in the first half than the second as a result.

Yeah, Gonzaga had a marginally better shooting percentage today. The difference was that we had 18 more shots than they did, including 15 more attempted three pointers.
