Haase has some flexibility: ZW, Keefe (initial agreement was walk-on for 2, scholarship for 2), possible early departure

also with covid rules, Daejon or Oscar could come back next year and count against the 13 (or at least that is the way I read the ncaa summary)

fwiw, I like Moss' shot. good form, serious range and he looks to have added a couple of inches from last year.

I am starting to ask the same question. Watching other "top" freshman at other schools playing like obvious first rounders, I have been wondering if ZW will develop quickly or if he might not be a 1st rounder after this year?

This is a topic on my mind too. We know that NBA teams draft based on potential much more so than current abilities. But, ZW does look like someone who may take a few years before becoming a productive pro. For the reasons outlined here and his skinny frame. I would have to assume that if he comes out he'd at least sneak into the first round. But, might find himself in the D league for a couple years while his body matures. If the scouts tell him the same, he'd be very smart to stay at Stanford for at least another season.

KZ and Ty both did/are doing this. IMO he's gone.

I agree that he's almost certain to leave, considering he was pegged as a top-5 pick coming into the season. That said, TT proved a lot more during his freshman season than JW has thus far. But, there's still time for JW to prove himself and again, it's all about "upside" to NBA teams.

Coming into the season, Ziaire was in the 5-7 range of mock drafts. The latest mock i've seen has him at #10 so he has dropped a few spots.

I think it's way too early to make a judgement about Zaire for this season. He's had one great game, then a few clunkers, at least offensively. But if he comes out and finds his stride and puts together 3-4 really good all-around games, his stock will rise again.

Stanford just landed their third 2021 commit today, Jarvis Moss, a 3 star SG from Concord, NC. He's a big time shooter and another nice late find by this coaching staff.

I have watched multiple full games of his on YouTube in anticipation of this commitment. The 6'4" guard is one of the best shooters in North Carolina, and possibly the country. Think of what we have seen from Spencer Jones's offensive game in year two. The added ability to shoot off the dribble, to pull up in the mid-range, pump fake and take it to the rack, or even create a bit for others. All those things that Spencer has added this year are things that Jarvis can already do.

As a junior Jarvis shot 47% from behind the arc on roughly 7 attempts per game. That is insane. He was playing a more complementary role at that point, as his Cannon School is one of the top prep programs in the state and featured other D1 talents.

The take from Grant Avalon of Channel Tree Sports above is very similar to mine. This kid is already in a very good place as a baller and he could really surprise a lot of people as a frosh. His ranking seems way out of place with his potential — at least based on the film I’ve seen. (And we really need not just shooters, pout all-around hoopers who can shoot and Jarvis sure looks like the latter to me.)

Good for Harrison! Does this mean that Haase has as many McD All Americans as Monty did? Childress and Jacobsen, right? (Trent's don't count because there was hardly any actual recruiting involved)

I don't know, but Vanderveer has as many McD all-Americans *this year* as Haase has had in his five-year career. I think there will be more McDonalds all-Americans on next year's team as have ever been recruited on the men's side.

The men's program will never come close to getting as many McDonald All-American's as the women's team. Doesn't matter who the men's coach is. Bottom line: guys can jump after their first year to the NBA and make millions. Not so for the women. The elite guys just don't have the incentive to prioritize academics to the degree the women do.

We could definitely use a shot blocking big man who started for a NCAA tourney team. Electrical and Computer Engineer Graduate is a good sign, but admissions into Stanford engineering grad schools is not easy.
