Contrast that to Tara and the women’s team, which has improved over the course of the year, and after a few stumbles earlier in the season are playing some of their best basketball of the year.

It helps when you have an abundance of elite players - all of whom would be starting at most programs in the country - riding pine and just waiting for an opportunity to play.

Look, I think every game is a possible L, especially with MOC out.

Many here were clamoring for Silva to be the starting PG.  Well, you got your wish.  The bad news is that he will undoubtedly have some TOs in his first couple starts/games with LOTS of PT.  The good news is that I expect him to improve his play as he gets more PT.  Because . . . all of us say it together:  "Playing time breeds confidence ==> better play ==> more confidence ==> more better play."  Look at Keefe.  How many of us thought that guy was nothing more than a role player, minutes-wise and a brick artist?  He is much better than that, as he has demonstrated as his PT has increased.  He can still get a lot better, of course, but the point holds.

I hope Silva can manage to keep his feet inbounds.

...and healthy and out of foul trouble. Assumng Taitz is still out and/or not at 100%, the only other guard we have is Beskind, which means HI is the sole scholarship player who can fill in at PG.

LOL. I think Silva can ultimately be pretty good. He needs experience to get it pounded into his head he is no longer in high school. He can actually shoot the 3, especially from the corner, and is slick with the ball...unfortunately sometimes too slick when relying on his HS moves/shots/passes.

Cal is going to beat Oregon.
Edit: 78 Cal - 64 Oregon was the final and it wasn't that close in the end.

Bet the Ducks fans didn't see that one coming.

Not sure Stanford will be favored at Haas if the Cal team that was at Oregon today can find that level of play at Haas.

We have a lot of players who are getting a lot of time, but your equation doesn't seem to hold for them! :>
