Stanford up 4-0 bottom of sixth against Santa Clara.  Cold but no rain.

Canady started game. Vawter came in relief in second inning. Don't know what happened there with Canady leaving so early in game.

I hope it is the Tampa Bay Rays strategy of having the reliever start the game, and the starter finish. But it definitely is worrisome.
The 1-2 combination of Vawter and Canady has been fantastic, WCWS level quality.

Hopefully there are no injuries.   It sure is odd to take a pitcher out after the first inning when they aren't giving up any runs.  We'll find out soon enough.  A game tomorrow and then four games on the weekend.  Canady will be needed in the next couple of days.

Stanford plays University of Nevada 5:00 pm today in the Stanford Tournament.  They are 9-1.  In their last two games the #1 pitcher, Blake Craft, allowed four hits and no runs.  At 2:30 pm today Nevada plays Michigan.

The weather forecast looks like all games will be played today although it will be pretty darn cold.  A little surprising to me because here in Orange County it's expected to rain all day and all tomorrow.

It was not working for me either cardfan. Stanford with an early 1-0 lead after an RBI triple in the B1.

Why did Vawter come in relief for Krause?  Krause didn't allow any hits or runs against a very good Nevada team.
Textbook perfect bunt by Kaitlyn Lim.
Stanford with runners on base bottom of fourth but couldn't get any of them home.  Still 1-0.

Looks like Krause is still pitching (perhaps a pinch hitter/runner scenario?) Or temporary scorer's mistake?

Our lineup really seems to be missing Sydnee Huff. She hasn't played this season. Some of our veteran infielders haven't had the best seasons at the plate so far.

Why wasn't that a foul ball?  It stayed outside the line until the first basewoman fielded it.

If live stats are correct, Krause pitched a perfect game against a team coming into the game with a 10-1 record.

Unfortunately, Card had an error, allowing a runner to reach base. But a tremendous outing for Krause tonight. Was definitely needed!

Michigan at 1:00 pm and Boise State at 3:30 pm today.  Both on Stanford Stream.  Weather forecast looks like both games will be played.

Boise State and Michigan again on Sunday.  Weather will be problematic.

In Pasadena there was six inches of rain in the last 24 hours.  A little unusual SoCal getting more rain than South Bay.

Middle of the second inning; 0-0.   Vawter pitching.  No Canady; that's not good.  Bright sunshine helping make it feel a little warmer.  Sounds like Troy calling the game.
