RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - petersalas - 03-02-2023

I’m so bummed we couldn’t go this year. Last year was our first time and it was one of the best experiences. I so wanted to go, but our Adele tickets for last year during the same time as the tournament were replaced with tickets for her next week so we couldn’t do both (tournament this weekend and concert next weekend). Does anyone know if they will continue the PAC 12 tournament in Vegas next year?

UCLA, after squeaking by last place ASU yesterday in overtime, dominated Arizona today.  Game isn't over, but it looks like a 15 point win or better.  They will play their third game in three days tomorrow against the winner of our game with Oregon.

That will be Stanford.

UCLA totally dominated the boards, and it looked as if Arizona ran out of gas, not UCLA , which playing it's 2nd game, the 1 st in OT

WSU had an 8 point lead over Utah, almost the end of the 3rd quarter.  Issy Palmer is not playing for Utah.  Did anyone catch why?

The Pac-12 and Stanford needs UT to make it to the CCG.

Up to 12 points at the end of 3.  It seems WSU doesn't care very much what the Pac-12 and Stanford need.

The Cougars showing that the Pac 12 is the best league in the country.

Disagree. If Stanford wins Pac12 tourney; we are a number 1 seed. Regardless if we beat Utah in the championship or someone else. Washington State deserves their moment. This is their first 20 win season in 20 years.

This game is pretty unbelievable to watch. Utah totally different team than last Saturday vs us.

What a finish. Congrats to the cougars. What a shot by Leger-Walker for the win

Congrats to Washington State. March madness has begun. Can't help but feel joyful for them.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - WBB fan - 03-02-2023

So glad for WSU, but also feel for Utah. WSU simply outplayed them, better on virtually every metric except FT percentage.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - martyup - 03-02-2023

Good for WSU.  They played a great game.  Clearly, that loss will cost UT a #1 seed in the NCAA.  If they had made the final in this tourney they might have held on to that #1 seed.

Now, because they won't be playing a top 5 ranked opponent in the finals, if Stanford loses in the semi-final or final they could lose their #1 seed in the NCAA tourney.

I think Utah was super psyched for that game and we were exhausted by travel and Colorado double overtime.  Today Utah came down to earth and faced a WSU team that was super psyched.

Utah was without their point guard, which may have made a bigger difference than we would have thought.

But I think the most interesting thing was seeing how WSU successfully defended Pili.  Motuga proved to be the right kind of defender to handle her.  Officiating also helped. Kneepkins was not getting away with as many run-into-the-defender calls as she did against us.  Kneepkins got 4 FTs tonight and 12 FTs against us.

The interview with the team after the game certainly won my heart over to them.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - chimera - 03-02-2023

I'm happy for WSU.  Utah did not look that great, maybe a bit of pressure of being the hunted got to them a bit.  That definitely costs them a #1 seed.  I think if we win out, #1 seed is highly likely.  If we drop a game, then we still have a good shot a #1 seed depending on what happens elsewhere.  Best thing to do is just win out.  I started out hoping Utah would win so we could maybe face them and beat them in the finals but I couldn't help but root for WSU as the game went on.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - Hoops9092 - 03-02-2023

I can't remember another season recently where the last 2 one seeds were this up in the air. It seems like there are a handful of teams that could sneak on to that top line and surprise us come selection Sunday. Great stuff.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - CompSci87 - 03-02-2023

OSU leading 31-24 late in the 2nd quarter.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - jonnyss - 03-02-2023

if we win out, we should jump utah in the rankings ie to #5.

then, if i recall correctly, lsu has to get by south carolina in their tournament. if they win they deserve a #1 seed. if they lose, we will likely jump them for a #1 seed.

then,  indiana, maryland, and iowa are all in the big 10, so if i understand correctly, 2 of the 3 will have an extra loss coming up. conceivable all 3 could exit early but not likely.

so if we win our tournament, i would expect us to end up at #3 or 4.

i suppose that if iowa wins out, they could jump us.

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - WBB fan - 03-02-2023

The people behind me, OSU fans, are screaming at the refs, and they are right

RE: WBB: The Pac 12 tournament - CompSci87 - 03-02-2023

Colorado turning this into a rugby match and the refs giving them all the calls. Ugh.
