Good thing too as traveling cross country on a short week would be a big disadvantage.
FBSchedules.com has 11/2 @ NC State and 11/16 Louisville. I'm guessing 9/28 @ Clemson and 10/26 Wake Forest.
Here's the link: https://fbschedules.com/2024-stanford-football-schedule/. Interesting that the full schedule for NC State and Louisville are already out but not all the ACC schools. Also interestingly, both NC State and Louisville have byes the week before they play us.
SMU also comes in off of a bye.
The 4th east coast visitor gets the bye the week after the trip here.
ACC Network says Stanford travel is 21K and Cal travel is 24K. Didn't say whether they counted the Clemson trip as a trip from the West Coast.
We play a team coming off a bye four times. Both of our post bye opponents are also coming off byes so we never get an advantage and always the disadvantage.

On the other hand, Stanford has only 4 games outside the Bay Area.

Otherwise, it would be the ACC home opener and/or a 2-game trip to the East Coast.

SMU has only 11 games on the current schedule, so one of their 3 byes is likely to be filled in.
Notre Dame also has only 11 games on its schedule now.

maybe our team is seen as a threat, necessitating those bye?
or maybe not.

Maybe the ridiculous Stanford scheduling mollified the other ACC schools...

If there is even a grain of truth in this, then what will be done with the women's soccer schedule to mollify the petulant Anson Dorrance???

Stanford has to play defending NC Florida State 10 times next season, all in Tallahassee.

Nothing can mollify him; he just doesn't like the competition.
I remember him complaining about Stanford having an unfair advantage in recruiting because of our Rodin sculpture garden.
Unfortunately, over the summer he was given a new 5-year contract by UNC.

I hadn't heard that before, but it happened.

"
My mother, who is a native North Carolinian, called me up while I was on this visit and said, ‘If you go to Stanford, I am putting my head in an oven,” Dorrance joked. “Rodin Sculpture Garden in the middle of campus? Are you freaking kidding me?
“There has to be rules against the advantages that schools like Stanford have against the rest of us. I feel like all of us that play against them should start the game a goal up because of the advantages that they have. For all of you guys in the NCAA that are sitting out there, consider that as an option.”"

Maybe we could even things up by lending him one of the Rodin sculptures to play goalie.

What's stopping him from getting one of these to even things up?

He said he hates Rodins, right? Wait, let me check that spelling again....

Well, at least we know what pictures should be on the signs our fans will hold up when they come here to play!
