I find it fascinating that in all the uproar, for or against, over the decision re Clark, no one in the media etc. has brought up the fact that another WNBA rookie is going to the Olympics -- Cam. Maybe because it's not controversial in that she clearly is a legit choice, with her Gold Medal MVP from last year.

I don't actually follow CC and the WNBA that closely.
As in watching the games daily or regularly.
So I don't know if this was seen and appreciated, is from about 3 or 4 days ago.
Caitlin Clark’s performance in the Indiana Fever’s close win against the Washington Mystics was history-making, and after the game she etched her name even further into the WNBA record books.
The Fever rookie sat at 202 points, 76 assists and 64 rebounds in just 12 games. She became the fastest WNBA player to reach at least 200 points and 50 assists in league history, according to Bleacher Report via Stat Mamba on social media.
She also tied a WNBA record with seven made 3-pointers and joined New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu as the only WNBA players to put up a 30-5-5 stat line as rookies.

Clark's game seems like a natural fit for 3x3. Two of this year's 5x5 US team members, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, were on the gold medal winning 3x3 team in Tokyo in 2021. They used that success as a springboard to the national team. I wonder why Clark did not pursue that avenue as well.

Agree 3x3 good path but could be other factors such as she chose to really focus on her Iowa team and her individual game or even that there is a clog there now at guard spot (w Van Lith assuming the spot she'd probably covet)?

Another voice saying the committee got it right, leaving Clark off 2024, but likely to be there 2028. Bruce Jenkins from SF Chron today, saying he was originally strongly for her being on the team, but over time, came to a different opinion. Worth reading.

...but did you WATCH the game? It was no big deal, the right call was made. Welcome to the WNBA.
BTW, speaking of Reese USA Today had an interesting article regarding the other tidbits that were investigated for the Washington Post Mulkey article that was supposed to be a big deal.
