Mitchell
decommited from Vandy last week. Is he really 5'10" and 185#, and if so, was he recruited as a QB? Either way, his
offer list isn't bad.

Yes a QB.

#1 QB just decomitted from Georgia and reportedly will sign with Vandy. They must be doing well in the NIL.

Ammon Alexander, Offensive Tackle

unfortunately, David Schwertzel (DL) decommited.

Even if he shows up on campus in the fall, the key is whether he is still on the team in 2028 and 2029, when d linemen have grown into their maximal impact.
Sadly, recruiting freshmen barely matters any more.

Well, BC's earlier post in re Schwertzel - who recommited to UCLA - sure came back to bite us in the a**. Would've helped on the DL but oh well....

I assume he flipped now that he knows who the coaches at UCLA and Stanford will be. Fair to say it says something about his comparative excitement of the selection of Tavita?

Thanks for posting the link.
Ok Ok some good commits...
But as beaten to death in discussion on the board, the key will be retention, and transfers.
FWIW, 247 sports has our class ranked in top half of ACC, barely, at 8th, of 17 teams.
Also FWIW, as we finished 12th in the ACC this year, having our class ranked 8th means we recruited better than our season performance.
So congrats to our recruiting folks.
Albeit at such an early stage, with retention and transfers yet to become known.

I was just posting a truism, not trying to manifest anything. I wish we were still in the days where commitments reliably translated to signings and the vast majority of players stayed in the school four or five years. Back then I used to follow recruiting and welcomed things like Matt Squeri's 9D analysis. Now, I don't know if he does them for the other site, but he doesn't seem to post them here, and even if he did, given their density, I'm not sure I would read them.
Anyways, I wish I hadn't been vindicated, but given Sam's gentle teasing about how frequently I posted about commitments being meaningless, I'm probably entitled to pull out the receipts.

Not true, and he is not signing with UCLA.

Thanks Samuel - I was just going by what's
currently up on 247 and a number of other sites but those are from last evening. I now see
he's wavered yet again. Any insight on the real deal, here? No rush - I'm gonna go get some popcorn and a brew for this one.....

Not as deep into messageboardology as I used to be, but seems like there's a shot at Zion Robinson, a 4-star wideout from Texas.

We've struck gold with a couple of other Mansfield HS players - Stepfan Taylor and Paulson Adebo. Fingers crossed here.

The latest on Robinson
"This was a bit of a surprise situation that unfolded on Wednesday morning, as four-star wide receiver Zion Robinson announced he would be delaying his decision “until further notice.” The reason why is simple —
Stanford sent him a significant offer that he had to take more time to entertain. .....communication remains ongoing between Michigan and Robinson, and he will be announcing his final decision sometime on Thursday."

Looks like ZR flipped to Stanford, at least according to UM's On3 site:

And confirmed by Stanford Football on X at 8:42 am!
