That is an egregious no holding call………
He literally tackles Staples. Thats enough ACC football for me for the year.

Anybody read the Scouting Report?
Double team Hernandez.
And, now Lopez escapes again for a 19 yard toss to move inside the Red Zone.
... more injuries. D-Line. No pressure on Lopez.
And now PI on us in the end zone, with 16 seconds remaining in the half...
Meltdown. WAKE 29, STAN 3 ... WOW
So, this is what IOWA felt like in the 2016 Rose Bowl. Punch in the gut.

Coaching staff sucks. Hire your friends instead of making a big splash hire. Can’t wait to take a knee and run this bad boy out

We’re going to lose anyway, but that last TD was all due to the refs. The PI call was totally bogus, and the missed holding call on the TD play was egregious.

Straight up tackled him in front of the ref and no call lol
Announcers who clearly have a bias against Stanford, silence

At half
WAKE nearly 300 yards of offense, Lopez 15 of 19 for 208 yards. 2 TDs.
STAN 97 yards total offense, 1 for 2 on FGs. Fold up the card table.
Second half will be an exercise in masochism.
Only loss for WAKE is to MIAM in NC.
WAKE has to visit SMU on Nov. 14, and that might be for the other spot in the ACC Champ game.
WAKE beat LOUV last week.

I should be painting my bathroom instead of wasting time on this boring game. You know, watching paint dry might be more interesting.

Can't believe Pritchard took a time out when WF had third and short. Truly a bone-headed decision.
And inconsistent with how Stanford played on offense the previous possession, when it was clear they were just trying to milk clock.
Does not compute.

Making sure WAKE covers the spread...

Exactly
I think for some teams in some sports and some conferences, home field is h.uge difference.

Well at least the segment of the CardBoard that likes piling onto Tavita, Luck, and everyone else is enjoying itself. If only we had hired those big name coaches who didn’t want to come here, this would be going much better.
That said… really disappointing game. So far through 2.5 games against good teams we have shown zero competitiveness. We seem to outperform against bad teams and underperform against good teams (relative to expectations). Not sure what conclusions I draw from that.

WAKE expects to score when they get the ball.
We struggle to get first downs.
With Gerhart or Taylor or McCaff (and the TWU) we would lean forward on every play.
Now we don't.
The difference is not between Gerhardt, Taylor , McCall and Ford any Irvin …. It’s between the offensive lines in front of the backs. Ford is a very, very good running back. The first hit on him is much more likely to be behind the line of scrimmage or at it then even a hard past it . all of our rushing yards are “after contact”. If we don’t get an offensive line we won’t be able to attract or keep good running backs.
Injuries are a significant part of our O Line problems . But the maturity and talent level between our O line and the D lines we face is large.

I agree, although I would rank Toby (duh) and Stepfan above Micah. Stepfan’s vision was incredible. But to your point, he’s not setting Stanford career rushing records if he plays with us this decade.

I conclude that we can play really good football if at home and against another team that isn’t great. Against a great team, or away against most anybody, then all bets are off.
I am glad we didn’t hire a big name coach. Firstly, none would want to come unless overpaid with extra wheelbarrow loads of cash, and big commitment to multi year contract.
Then if with a losing record it’s worse cause you’re overpaying for nothing. All that extra cash better served by investing in OLine & DLine players.
We need an energetic and dedicated and talented up and comer coach, who can turn around a program.
Like a Harbaugh
Or more recently, a Cignetti
Tavita still has a chance to show this. First step will be to finish with 4+ wins this season, still possible.
Then of course needs build better on that next year.

Unbelievable how such a well regarded school is okay with being dog shit at its major sport for a decade but yeah let’s keep waiting for next year…

Question: Can we consider that last 4th down play a punt rather than an interception?
