Clean sweep of the Pac-12 elite.  Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, and USC all go down.

In the sub-elite, WSU and C.al are engaged in a track meet with C.al up at 54-52 with 6 minutes left. If C.al hangs on, they will lead the north.

In neo-classic spread v spread this game is STILL going strong.  It is now 11:30PM Pacific.  For all the grumbling about Coach Shaw's system, I am thankful the Stanford Stadium games finish in about 3 hours.

Coug'd it.

With 19 seconds left.  Washington State elected to try a 19 yd FG, but missed it.

Final Score  -  UCB 60, WSU 59.  Game Time 4 hours 10 minutes.  UofA leads the South, UCB leads the North.

Anyone here pick C.al to be leading the Pac 12 North at this point?

In LA, Utah has shown that it can win on the road this year.  Utah is going to be confident on their next trip to the Golden State.

Cal's schedule from here on out:

Washington
#8 UCLA
#2 Oregon
Oregon State
#16 USC
#14 Stanford
#18 BYU

5 of their last 7 games are against ranked teams (though all those ranked teams lost this week), and Washington and Oregon State are no gimmes.  Cal might well end the season on a 7 game losing streak.  Their only upshot is that 5 of the 7 remaining games are at home.

I expect those rankings will look a lot less daunting by tomorrow. The only team that won this week is the one that isn't ranked.

Re: This week in opponents: week 6 - TrumpCard - 10-06-2014

To be fair, the only kal game I saw was the loss to Arizona, but that is just not a very good football team.  The team has lots of good skill players, but a mediocre OL and a still-green QB who will get throttled just like he did last year.Â
