Trent Irwin in the game

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

As the announcers have noted, that's time we've run it on third and long.

Bloomgren the OL coach is really letting down Bloomgren the OC.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - 82lsju - 09-05-2015

Quenton Meeks apparently in the game now

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - socalstanfan1 - 09-05-2015

squandering good field position....never good

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - OutsiderFan - 09-05-2015

The early start time ALWAYS impacts west coast teams.  They usually play WAY better in the second half of these early games.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - needle - 09-05-2015

I missed the first drive. That said, while last year's offense had really ugly stretches of boneheaded penalties, this is perhaps the worst the Stanford offense has looked in a long, long time.

RBs look average, WRs non-existent, OL below average, Hogan not good.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - washingtonismoney - 09-05-2015

Hogan has been OK, it's the supporting cast which has not, well, supported.

Meanwhile the Thorson TD is a predictable consequence of leaving 5 in the box.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - stupac2 - 09-05-2015

Defense has looked bad too. If Phillips's injury is serious we could be totally screwed.

What happened to Phillips?

Am at the game, didn't see it. Leg?

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

From bad to worse  :'(

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - stupac2 - 09-05-2015

Announcers said he limped off, showed him sitting on the trainer's table.

Meanwhile, of course the first turnover is by us.

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - socalstanfan1 - 09-05-2015

time zone or no, Stanford better wake up pretty damn quick

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

Shouldn't be a catch.

Watching the game in a sports bar in rural Nebraska, bartender is an SC guy...I am embarrassed :(

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - BostonCard - 09-05-2015

Wtf?  How is it confirmed?  I could understand upholding it, but confirming it is bs.

I'm watching it from the UK on a 24-hr package for £8.99, but it's not a very pretty sight so far.  At least I'll get to see some other games later in the day.....

Re: Northwestern Game Thread - needle - 09-05-2015

NW's interior line is a real weakness for the team. Now center is injured going into a commercial.

Sadly, this is the best reason to think Stanford (defense) is going to win as the O is a complete zero.
