These guys have forced us to nickel and dime them. And that one batter just had Williams' number.

TSU might be way underseeded, but still, if we want to win the championship, we have to beat teams like them.

This team has made us crazy all season. Why should the regional be any exception?

We get so invested as fans. I thought they had finally put all the pieces together. I was ready to book my flight to Omaha this weekend. Seriously.
Ah, well. Let's take care of business tomorrow. Then see about exacting revenge on TSU.

Taking care of business tomorrow means beating UCSB in the afternoon and TXST in the evening. This would set up an all or nothing game on Monday.

It will be a tall order to win 3 games. It’s like going to a weekend series and needing to sweep the series without Williams and Dixon. Not impossible but very hard. Hopefully the offensive will return to its normal production and more. Jones is 0/9 or 0/10. If Stanford makes it to game 7 on Monday, I wonder if Dixon will pitch on a short rest. One game at a time. Stanford needs to take care of UCSB first.

What happened to Graham?

Brutal day to have a bad day. I feel terrible for Williams. This team is nowhere near a national seed without his weekly gems. We came to expect it, and it sure seemed like we needed it. I hope the bats come to life and the rest of the pitching staff steps up like they did last night. Fight like heck to give Williams another chance to go out on top, he deserves it! (Along the same line of thinking, it would be a massive bummer for Jones to go out like this too. He just needs one to get going, hopefully he finds it early and often.)

Injured his leg when he collided with a fence while going after a foul ball. Maybe a deep bruise.

I thought it was pretty clear that Williams didn't have his best stuff. He didn't seem to have as much movement on his pitches as usual and they succeeded in getting his pitch count high early. I thought we should have pulled him much earlier. That way if we lost he might be good for a few innings today or tomorrow if we get that far.
Jones also worries me, he looked exactly like he did in early season, not like he has looked the last couple of months. I fear he is sort of a head case and if gets he down on himself he finds it hard to get his mojo back. We sure need the Jones of April and May.
We need hitting and somehow get a win in the next game from whatever platoon of pitchers they put out there. Getting to tomorrow won't be easy.
I think post season results are more often affected by pitching, not hitting. We face better pitchers and hitters often don't produce as well. Our pitching staff worries me.

We've left 3 on base in 3 innings. Despite no hits, UCSB has had people on base too. They're batting in the bottom of the third.

Does gives up a 2-run homer in the bottom of the third so we will be battling from behind, again.

Yes.
2 more left on base, but, at least, we tied the game.
