I respectfully disagree with an earlier poster who said Watkins might be concerned about the number of guards we have on our roster. I just don’t think she is worried about competing for playing time with Papadaki. She should be more concerned with the 5 top 25 PG/SG’s at South Carolina. We only have 1 such player (Nivar).

#5 Hannah Hidalgo and #16 Cassandra Prosper appear to be the last remaining targets for the Blue Devils.

With Day-Wilson still there and Donovan and Okananwa coming, maybe Hidalgo doesn’t choose Duke. They seem to have enough guards. She would have a good chance to start at Stanford. I know we have Lepolo, but it’s hard to see such a highly ranked guard not eventually starting.

Sometimes player X committing to school Y can be because school Y told her they have room for her, which could be because player Z just confidentially told school Y she isn't coming. So if there's some such player Z who has both Y and Stanford on her list, player X's commitment could be a hint of good news for Stanford.

Lol I understand what you were trying to convey, and it has a certain affect on the order of commitments and how that changes ones role at a particular school. I think, however, the top PG in the class, Hidalgo is only going to be concerned about PT when up against other top tier PG's, which Duke did not sign this year nor last year; neither did Notre Dame. Sorta makes me wish Kiki Rice went to Duke to keep Hidalgo elsewhere.
I also view JuJu, at 6'1/6'2 as more a "3" than a "2" from what I've seen and heard, so I think she will fit right in anywhere on any of her finalists.

notre dame has olivia miles who would be a junior when hidalgo arrives.

I still have never been able to figure out when Train A is 220 miles away from Train B and one is moving at 110 mph and the other is at 65mph how long before they crash. On an exam in freshman algebra I once wrote "Chicago" and got THAT look from the Jesuit teacher.

a throwback from Hoopgurlz when I was asked by Hoopgurlz to rank recruiting classes from 2006-2010.
I consider the ESPN grade to be the primary criterion, and the ESPN overall ranking kind of
provides a sub-ranking within the ESPN grade.
For example:
#1 WATKINS is 98(1) and #2 WILLIAMS is 98(2);
#3 DONOVAN is 97(1), #4 TOOMEY is 97(2), #5 HIDALGO is 97(3), etc.
#12 BOOKER is 96(1), #13 FULWILEY is 96(2), etc
#25 Tessa JOHNSON is 95(1), #26 BELL is 95(2), etc.
There are some subjective elements that enter the equation,
like what I did when I proposed a tie for #3
among Duke, South Carolina and UConn
in the latest edition after #13 FULWILEY and
#27 OKUNANWA announced their commitments.
I really appreciate the ESPN ranking system, because the ESPN grade
differentiates the talent levels of players. This way,
we are made aware that #1 WATKINS and #2 Mikayla WILLIAMS
(both with ESPN grade = 98) are a cut above the next level of talents
who have an ESPN grade = 97 which include #3 DONOVAN,
#4 TOOMEY, #5 HIDALGO...#10 OGDEN and #11 SCOTT, and so on.

UConn also just signed Jana El Alfy, a 6'4 PF/C from Egypt. She has performed quite well in international competitions and I would personally put her as a top 10 recruit. So, they should move up with her in my opinion.

Staley has lucked out having #1 2014 recruit A'ja Wilson and #3 (per PN) 2023 recruit Mikayla Fulwiley both from Columbia, South Carolina. Surprised Fulwiley made her wait so long to commit.
Guess the same can be said about Haley Jones and us.
On our present team, Dawn also has freshmen Ashlyn Watkins (Columbia) and Taylasia Cooper (bennetsville) who were Top 25 recruits last year. Next year's class has #2 Joyce Edwards (Camden, basically a Columbia suburb). A lot of talent from a State with a population of less than 5 mill. But then, she and A'Ja had a lot to do with building interest in high school girls basketball in the state. The Ole Miss and Florida coaching staffs have strong connections to SC and had been recruiting Malaysia since the 7th grade.
