Bummer and bummer.

Thanks for the update.

RE: Stanford Baseball - DC 86 - 06-05-2022

Stanford 2 runs, 7 hits.
UCSB 2 runs, 1 hit.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-05-2022

Esky has invoked the Mathews Option already here B4 of a tie ballgame.

Yeah, I guess the philosophy is that you gotta win the game in front of you in order to get to the game further up ahead. We haven't used Uber yet. But then who do we have? Montgomery?

Uh-oh. 3-4 now.

RE: Stanford Baseball - PVTree - 06-05-2022

I would think Uber goes tonite if we survive this game.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-05-2022

Esky said on the interview that the game will be decided with Quinn on the mound. If they beat his best, he'll tip his cap to them.
(I enjoy Esky's interviews a lot.)

Injured his leg when he collided with a fence while going after a foul ball. Maybe a deep bruise.

Barrera starting at 1B today, Haskins at 2B.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-05-2022

We finally force their starter off the mound, but sadly, no "rock and roll part 2" playing over the PA to fire up our team. :(

Last time I looked, we were near the top of the league in fewest home runs allowed. It's really annoying to limit the hits yet still allow the other team to outscore you.

Sending Jones good thoughts ----
Yes!

See saw game

5 runs on 12 hits

A bruise on the leg is a hell of a long way from the heart. . . .

RE: Stanford Baseball - chrisk - 06-05-2022

#7 Oklahoma State came back from down 12-0 to win 29-15 in its elimination game.

The 8 seeded teams facing elimination in the first game today have gone 6-1, with Georgia Southern losing and Stanford still playing.

RE: Stanford Baseball - BostonCard - 06-05-2022

Three run sixth puts us up 6-4.

Raise your hand if you thought all of UCSB’s runs would come via home runs and none of Stanford’s runs would come via the long ball.

BC

Got one more on a single, walk, bunt, and sacrifice fly.

7-4 in the middle of the 7th.

BC

Matthews retires the side in order and we head to the eighth.

6 more outs.

RE: Stanford Baseball - PVTree - 06-05-2022

8-4 lead, bottom of the eight.

RE: Stanford Baseball - chrisk - 06-05-2022

Only 4 of Stanford’s 8 runs were scored by hits. Overall, stanford has 15 hits to 4 for UCSB.

Others scored on 2 sac flys, an error and a DP.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-05-2022

3 more outs. 8-4 lead. T9.

RE: Stanford Baseball - TonyLima - 06-05-2022

Mathews struck out Mortensen three times. Sadly, the umpire disagreed.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-05-2022

2 more outs. Mathews exceeds 100 pitches.
