rubin tough night so far. blocked 5 times by my count, aced 2. hitting .077

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - paloalto - 11-01-2024

Stanford back on track to start set 3.  Big Mo with giant swings in this match.

Stanford builds up a nice lead early in set 3 and then mistake after mistake.

Stanford wins set 3 with some help from Miami missing its last two serves.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - mbdude - 11-01-2024

some sloppy passing so far in set 4 by stanford

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Hieronymus - 11-01-2024

A couple of clown car points there for Stanford. Transition passing and control on digs has not been good today. The ceiling doesn’t help, but that isn’t all of it.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Spiny_Norman - 11-01-2024

Lopez for Miami is a load. 21 kills, hitting over .400.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Hieronymus - 11-01-2024

The really bad part is Miami’s passing was garbage. Still couldn’t close it out.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - mbdude - 11-01-2024

they did hit .435 that set

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - TonyLima - 11-01-2024

With that low ceiling, this is more like racquetball than volleyball.

76lsjumb - 76lsjumb - 11-01-2024

According to stats, Rubin is hitting .088. ’Nuff said.

Yup Miami was able to hit out of their passing problems.

Miami coach working the refs.

RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball 2024 - Hieronymus - 11-01-2024

Stanford loses. Better teams pull that out.

I don't think you can blame it on travel every time a Stanford team loses to a team on the East Coast.  Francis played well and she traveled.

Nope. Shoulda won this match. Had 5 match points to do so in set 4. I go back to my analysis after the Pitt loss, has our team improved at all throughout this season and if so, in what areas? I haven't seen it.  Maybe our team ceiling just isn't that high this year.

Yep. Sure it CAN be tiring, but it's always exciting to visit a new team which also happens to be good. Imo, excitement usually trumps fatigue.

Their top player hit .405 on 54 attempts; our top player hit .158 on 38 attempts. The fact that we were able to almost win, as opposed to getting blown out in 3, tells me the TEAM wasn’t playing too badly.
