Jeon gets his revenge! Sayonara shot over the LF’s head to win 8-7 and secure the first series win over a top 25 win since… ASU? I forget what the announcer said. It doesn’t matter. All Right Now!
Edited to add: first time since Arizona Wildcats 5 years ago?

I’ve got a question. Let’s consider who the committee is gonna pick for the postseason tournament. Stanford has quality wins over a number of pretty good teams. But they also have a number of losses to teams that are … not very good. Will they make the tournament? If so, where will they be seeded?

With this weekend's two wins, so far, over FSU, Stanford's RPI has climbed 19 spots... to 113, just behind 19-23 Charlotte.
As a reference, Stanford did not make the NCAA tournament in 2025 with an RPI of 52. But note that last year Stanford had an 11-19 ACC record (13th out of 16 teams), 27-25 overall.
Right now, Stanford is 9-11 in the ACC (T9th), 20-19 overall. The current 4-game win streak is great, but I think that it would take something like a 10-3 finish in the final 13 games of the regular season to even be in the at-large conversation.

In case anyone isn’t watching and needs a reminder, we’re tied 3-3, top 8th, in a very interesting game 3 where FSU is trying its darndest to avoid being swept. We have our “closer” Trevor Moore on the mound. Go Card!
Still tied 3-3 heading into T9, with frosh two-way player Brock Ketelsen taking the mound.

FSU hit a lead-off HR to take a 4-3 lead. Stanford batting in the bottom of the 9th. C'mon Card!
Brady Reynolds with a leadoff single. Jimmy Nati up to bat.
Jimmy Nati single! Runners on 1st and 2nd. No outs.
Brock Sell pinch running for Nati.
FSU bringing in a reliever.
This FSU reliever has a 8.18 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. Hoping that bodes well for Stanford. Freshman catcher Nolan Stoll is due up.
Stoll comes back from an 0-2 count to earn a walk! Bases loaded, still no outs.
Rintaro is up.
FSU changing pitchers again. The new pitcher, a lefty, has a 7.11 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. Hoping this bodes well for Stanford.
Grand slam! Walkoff!
JJJ, is your heart OK? That was awesome!

Trevor Moore did an outstanding job getting Stanford out of a jam in the 7th. FSU had runners on first and second with no outs.
Moore got a K (after inheriting a 2-0 count), then got great help from the defense as Stanford turned a double play.
Those last three frames, so much drama. Very happy for the team.

Couldn’t have scripted it better if I had tried! I wish Troy Clardy was on the call to shout “Sayonara Manrui Homurun!” (Walk-off grand slam). So happy for the team. I was recording the tv on my phone as it was happening, which is a total nerdy thing to do. :)

Stanford baseball is now 10-11 in conference play (21-19 overall), which is good enough for a 4-way tie for 7th place and one game behind 6th place.
Next up is a home game vs UC Davis on Monday. This coming weekend the team travels to Indiana for its final regular-season out-of-state games vs Notre Dame (8-16, 19-20).
According to Warren Nolan RPI (Live), here are the RPI rankings for ACC teams:
#2 Georgia Tech
#4 North Carolina
#16 Florida State
#20 Virginia
#21 Wake Forest
#26 Boston College
#31 Miami
#38 Virginia Tech
#45 Pittsburgh
#49 Clemson
#52 NC State
#62 Cal
#77 Notre Dame
#78 Duke
#84 Louisville
#98 Stanford
Those Quad 3 and 4 losses are really hurting right now. Need to beat the Aggies on Monday!

Did Warren’s numbers include Sunday’s games?
I’m too old for this. But very happy!

His numbers did include Sunday's games, but not the makeup game vs Santa Clara. I see that he's corrected that and shows Stanford's RPI at 96.
Either way, there's a lot of work to be done for Stanford baseball to be in the conversation for an NCAA tournament invite.

Love getting some more payback against FSU for fighting our entry to the ACC because they didn't think we were worthy. Beat them in football and swept both softball and baseball series on the Farm against higher-ranked squads. I'd probably trade that all for a win against them in the women's soccer natty, but this is still pretty sweet.

And the Cardiac Cardinal do it again! 6-5 in 12 innings against UCSD.

Wow, so many times I thought it just wasn't Stanford's day/night, but they come up with the W against Davis. These last four days have been honestly incredible.
