I mean, what else did you expect Shanahan to say? It’s a press conference, and of course he’s going to say that they had all the confidence in the world in him, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Purdy did show some nerves in the first half. However, he played much more confidently in the 2nd half. Of course, it helps to be surrounded by an incredibly talented group of receivers/RB’s and OLers….

So we get either Niners/Cowboys (playoff history) or Niners/Bucs (Brady back home and Brady/Purdy age/experience contrast). Niners also played the earliest WC game and get the winner from the latest WC game.

My preferred Division round schedule:
Sat 4:30 ET: Jags at Chiefs
Sat 8:15 ET: Giants at Eagles
Sun 3pm ET: Bengals/Ravens vs. Bills (shouldn't this be a neutral site given game between Bills and Bengals was canceled due to Hamlin incident?)
Sun 6:30 ET: 'boys/Bucs at Niners

Given that Harbaugh has been a head coach in the league 15 years, it was a real head scratcher. I would love to know what he was thinking….

The 49ers will have two extra days off compared with either the Cowboys or the Buccaneers. I like our odds.
What's interesting is that the Eagles have beaten the Giants both times they played this year. They won 48-22 in week 14 and 22-16 in week 18, though the Giants were resting their starters the second time around. Supposedly, the Giants have kicked it into another gear. The Giants really did well against the Vikings this weekend, winning 31-24. Their defense looked strong, and was the best offensive performance of the season.
X Factor is Jalen Hurts, who is five weeks removed from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for two games.
Eagles have lost to the Cowboys and the Commanders. Could the Giants upset them, meaning the Niners get home field advantage until the Super Bowl. Maybe.

You can slow him down, but you can’t stop him…..
Brady, otoh, is at this point a below average QB. Time to hang it up.
Network contract mandates that Jerry Jones must be shown at least 4 times a game.
My guess is Niners will be favored by about 6. I truly wish Minnesota won….

Easy. They played in an awful division. 8-9.

They averaged 18.4 a game. Gave up 21. They were a pretty bad team.
