The SCU contingent with the Niners was composed of two QBs, Jesse Freitas and Ken Casanega from Castlemont in Oakland. Visco Grgich, who knew my father in law's dad. Alyn Beals, HoF, also played at UCLA. Dick Bassi, who was an 8th year player, the only non-rookie from SCU. Eddie Forrest, guard; Rupe Thornton. Incidentally, all the SCU players had been drafted by the Cardinals, Bears, Packers, Redskins or Steelers.
I know three of the Stanford players, but I'd like to hear it from the Stanford alums... ;).
There were only two players from USC on the 1946 49ers. Three from WSU, one each from UCLA and OSU, two from St. Mary's one from SJSU and one from USF. Also four more catholic school players, one from Villanova, two from Fordham, one from Marquette. Times have changed...
Coach was Buck Shaw and the team went 9-5. They beat Otto Graham and the Cleveland Browns that year, but lost to the Yankees twice.

I grew up in Denver, so my early SF 49er knowledge is not great, but I'll cherry-pick 1 of the 4 - Frankie Albert.

I wonder if he’s any relation to Enrico Banducci, who owned and ran the Hungry i for so many years.

Bruce Bochy is one of only two managers who managed a World Series team younger than 44 (San Diego Padres, 1998) and older than 67 (Texas Rangers, 2023).
Who was the other?
Second question: name the Top 10 managers in terms of postseason winning percentage. Minimum, 50 postseason games, which means most oldtimers like Joe McCarthy (30-13) are ineligible. One is Bruce B. One is a Stanford graduate. #11 is Dave Roberts of the Dodgers (45-39), so we won't include him...nor would we include other Dodger managers like Walt Alston (23-21) or Tommy Lasorda (31-30) or Davey Johnson (25-26), though there are two managers on the Top Ten list who did manage the Dodgers (though they were mainly known for managing other teams.

Younger than 44 & older than 67 must be Connie Mack.
It will take me a little longer to come up with a top 10 list.

Connie Mack is correct! He managed 50+ seasons, but does not have 50 postseason games, so he's not on the top 10 list.
