RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - Papa John - 04-28-2026

Stanford's RPI moves up one place to #95 after last night's come-from-behind-more-than-once win over #182 UC Davis.

Remaining regular season schedule:
@ #77 Notre Dame x 3
vs #244 San Francisco
vs #53 NC State x 3
vs #109 Saint Mary's
@ #61 Cal x 3

If Stanford somehow wins 2 out of 3 in the remaining series and both midweek games, the Card would finish 16-14 in the ACC, 30-22 overall.

At 16-14, Stanford would likely be seeded 5 through 8 in the ACC tournament, which, if it happened, would earn them a first-round bye. Last year, the 8 seed was 16-14 in regular season conference play.

And while I'm dreaming, the top 4 seeds earn first- and second-round byes. Stanford is currently two games out of fourth place, but last year's #4 seed was 17-11 (two rainouts). There are seven teams with current conference records that range from 12-9 (Miami, FSU) to 12-12 (UVa) to 10-11 (Pitt, NC State, Louisville, Stanford). At least one of those seven will have a great end to the regular season. Why not us?

We don't currently have video embedding. I don't know (or have forgotten) why it was turned off. If it was a software issue, maybe it would work to reenable the plug-in for that now, after the software update.

Thank you. If it isn’t my ignorance that is the problem (though it may still be if/when reenabled), no worries. :)

I regularly post videos of selected sports on Youtube.  I would love video embedding here.

Notre Dame Friday. 4 errors ain’t gonna get it done.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - BobK - 05-01-2026

ND 3 run HRs are even worse

5 for sure won’t.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - Papa John - 05-01-2026

Stanford played ugly ball today and lost to ND 6-2. 5 errors for Stanford gifted ND 3 unearned runs. JJ Moran had an especially bad game: 0-4 with 3 Ks and 4 LOB, 2 errors that led to 2 of the unearned runs. But plenty of bad to go around.

Time to bounce back Saturday and Sunday.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - TonyLima - 05-01-2026

That was ugly.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - JJJ - 05-02-2026

Missed yesterday’s game, but speaking of ugly, those blinding gold helmets for ND ought to be illegal.
We’re up 3-1, B2 with O’Harran on the mound at the moment.

Our scoring thus far seems to be courtesy of a couple of RBI hits by Lavin and Sasaki.
Threatening with men on corners T3.

Sac fly from Moran makes it 4-1 heading into B3.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - JJJ - 05-02-2026

With 2 men on, MacDonald singles up the middle, and the CF boots it so we’re up 5-1.
Subsequent double steal attempt was unsucessful, Jeon grounds out. Leading 5-1 heading into B4.

O’Harran was pulled after 3.1 IP (longest outing this year) and Gomez got the ball.
ND had 4 hits to score 2 in the inning, but back to back hitters got gunned down trying to stretch a single into a double, so we escape the inning giving up 2 runs. 5-3 after 4 full.

My thoughts exactly. Also distracting. Should be banned.
Also: calling for a bunt with 2 strikes is dumb.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - JJJ - 05-02-2026

Garewal gets in and out of trouble.
Leading 5-3 going into T7, outhitting ND 12 hits to 5.
2 runs aren’t enough of a lead. Let’s go!

Bloop hit to shallow LF by Bates that their SS knocks into foul territory scores Jeon from first! 6-3 after T7!

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - JJJ - 05-02-2026

I will spare the details, but the wheels came off for Trevor Moore and we’re down 6-8, B8.
What does the Cardiac Card have left in the gas tank?

Well, the wheels really came off B8.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - Papa John - 05-02-2026

Somehow Stanford reverted back to its old ways. Maybe it's the cold weather? Or the wall-to-wall carpeting?

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - TonyLima - 05-03-2026

And look who’s starting for the Domers. A familiar name … Ty Uber.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - TonyLima - 05-03-2026

Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Nati squibs a grounder outside the first baseline, and it travels back into fair territory, easy out.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2025/26 - JJJ - 05-03-2026

Just checked live stats.
Football score, we’re down 9-15.
Ouch.
