Prancer needs to stay on the mound and relax. All those trips off the slab wear you out.

RE: Stanford Baseball - PVTree - 06-06-2022

I'd like to attend tonite's game. There are only tickets on the visitor side. Anybody have an extra ticket I can purchase on the Stanford side?

RE: Stanford Baseball - BostonCard - 06-06-2022

Exactly, the number to look at is not the proportion of teams that advance who lost one game, but rather the proportion of teams that advance who came up the loser bracket.  I suspect that is a distinct minority.

That’s not trying to complain. Our strategy was to hold back and pitch our pac-12 pitcher of the year, Alex Williams, in our second game.  Texas state still won the game; as Esquer has noted, you just tip your cap at them.

So far today:
teams that came through the loser's bracket to force a final game which they lost - Coastal Carolina, Vanderbilt, Florida, Maryland, Oklahoma State
teams that came through the loser's bracket to force a final game which they won - Louisville, Southern Miss, North Carolina, Stanford

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-06-2022

ESPNEWS will cover the start of our game while ESPN2 shows the end of Ark/OkState.

Joey Dixon takes the mound. Glad we’re the home team!

RE: Stanford Baseball - BostonCard - 06-06-2022

Dixon works out of jam by inducing a double play to get out of the inning.

B1 0-0

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-06-2022

Their starter apparently leads the nation in saves(?) and has never started a game.

RE: Stanford Baseball - BostonCard - 06-06-2022

Dixon out after 1 2/3, having given up a run and men on first and second.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-06-2022

Joey Dixon is pulled after 1.2 IP, leaving 2 on for Max Meier.

Kody Huff goes yard, program record 103rd HR of the season. 1-1 ballgame!

RE: Stanford Baseball - Madera86 - 06-06-2022

Alright. Hopefully this reliever-turned starter has had his confidence crushed along with that pitch that Huff sent over the fence.

RE: Stanford Baseball - Softball Fan - 06-06-2022

Stanford hitting the ball well in the second inning.  Texas State a little lucky to get out of the inning giving up only one run.  I think Stanford will get to this pitcher at some point.

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-06-2022

Glad our defensive miscues haven’t done more damage than they have. 1-1 after 2.5.

RE: Stanford Baseball - Madera86 - 06-06-2022

Our sluggers are going for the kill. We gotta make this guy work.

RE: Stanford Baseball - BostonCard - 06-06-2022

1-1 after 3

RE: Stanford Baseball - JJJ - 06-06-2022

Dowd takes the mound in the 5th. Esky says he’s hoping for one inning or whatever he can give.

RE: Stanford Baseball - cardfan77 - 06-06-2022

Dowd looks good. Maybe he can give the team another inning, perhaps more.

RE: Stanford Baseball - Madera86 - 06-06-2022

Uuuuugh!

RE: Stanford Baseball - TonyLima - 06-06-2022

Is it just my setup here, or did ESPN drop game coverage?

It is on ESPN2 now.
