How about, in addition to Bochy for the top 10, Joe Torre, Sparky Anderson, Tony LaRussa Dick Williams, Billy Martin, Bobby Cox, Joe Madden, Terry Francona, & Dusty Baker?? Although I don't think any of those is a Stanford grad.

Doubtful on Bobby Cox--too many let downs in the 90's, people even write songs about them.
Only a couple of Stanford grads that I know of who managed. One who got into a teeny tiny bit of trouble. . . .

Bob, you were right about AJ. Terry, good call on Stengel and Girardi. Skip, you got almost all of them. Cardcrimson, right on LaRussa.
The two who had (briefly) coached the Dodgers were Casey Stengel (no posteason with the Bums) and Joe Torre (three years, three postseasons).
Jim Leland (44-40, .524), Dusty Baker (57-51, .528) are close, but not on the list. Mike Hargrove (27-25) and Whitey Herzog (26-25) were the other two managers with at least 50 games and at least 26 postseason wins.
Bobby Cox (67-69, .493), Joe Maddon (32-35, .478), John McGraw (26-28, .481) aren't over .500.
Dick Williams (21-23) and Bob Melvin (16-23, .410) and Billy Martin (15-19, .441) haven't managed 50 postseason games.

Richie Ashburn
.388 in 1957. (I’m a big Ted Williams fan - we share the same birthday).

Yeah, I remember listening to that game on KSFO. During the pregame show Russ/Lon mentioned that news came in from the Philly game that Ashburn went 3 for 4. So Mays had to go 5 for 5 to win the title, and Rigney batted Willie leadoff to give him a shot at 5 ABs. IIRC Willie got hits his first 2 times up, but finished 2 for 5 that day. Might have been the only time Willie ever batted leadoff.
