Walk-off grand slam that wasn't - I have a vague recollection of a "grand slam" that was celebrated by the runners resulting in on passing another. The runner from 3rd scored, but not all the others.

As for the Bond movie - Spectre???

Good memory, skip! In 1999, Robin Ventura hit a bases loaded home run In the bottom of the 15th inning of a 3-3 game against Atlanta in the 5th game of the NLCS.

The team mobbed him as he crossed first base and he never scored, so in the box score it went in as a game-winning single, and the score was 4-3.

Not SPECTRE.

I would guess either:

On Her Majesty's Secret Service, because it's the source of a few odd Bond trivia (e.g., it's the only movie in which Bond is married); or Moonraker or Licence to Kill.

BTW, it's interesting to me that James Bond, the quintessential English spy has been played by so many non-English actors, including Connery (Scot), Brosnan (Irish), Lazenby (Australian), and Dalton (Welsh). Only Roger Moore and Daniel Craig are English. And American actors Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds were offered the part, and they had the good sense to turn it down. Eastwood would have been the second Bond after Connery (not including Niven's parodic Casino Royale).

It is indeed Moonraker.  I’d have guessed Goldeneye, which is fourth.  Goldfinger was second (so decent guess, PASportsFan).  Neither “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” nor “License to Kill” were in the top 10.

Three weird connections between James Bond (sort of) and Stanford (sort of):

1. Former Stanford Hoover Institution James Stockdale's full name is James Bond Stockdale, and he has a son named Stanford.

2. Yes, I know that the next actor rumored to play James Bond is Aaron-Taylor-Johnson. Idris Elba was rumored, but doesn't want to play the character. There's also one recent rumor that it might be an American, Aaron Stanford.

I was factually incomplete. An American actor, John Gavin, was actually signed to play James Bond, after Lazenby's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. But Lazenby flopped so hard, they didn't want to use the unknown Gavin, so David Picker, head of UA, worked a deal with Connery to return. Gavin still got paid for the next two Bond movies.

On the other trivia question, before Game 1 of this year's World Series, there had only ever been one walk-off grand slam in the playoffs.  Nelson Cruz in the 2011 Game 2 ALCS versus Detroit hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 11th of a 3-3 game.  As mentioned, Robin Ventura would have had a grand slam, but never made it around the bases and was credited with a walk-off single.
