Kurt is a 21 year old redshirt freshman so she will be 24 her senior year of eligibility.  

Virginia on Thursday and Virginia Tech on Friday; both on ACCNX.

If you attend the Virginia Tech match you get a free Stanford corduroy volleyball hat; whatever that is.

Kaci DeMaria, Reese Dunkle, Spencer Etzler, Logan Parks, Zaria Queen, Erika Sayer.

With the NCAA discontinuing the National Letter of Intent, I wonder what Stanford's written "financial aid agreement" states in the way of commitment from  both sides.   Does every school have their own interpretation of an agreement? 

Of the 2025 class IMO Logan Parks is the one potentially elite player as a setter.  Etzler may be pretty good also although I've only seen her in high school videos where she plays OH.

Both can really put some pep (mustard) on it

Two plays I love to see:
Miner with quick set to Francis or Andrew
Miner with set to someone like Harvey or Rubin coming down the middle from the back row behind the line
When executed well the defense hardly has time to get any blocker into position

I also like the quick set to the middle because it helps to free up the left side hitter.

I guess it's official that Blyashov will be red-shirting.
In discussing the team for the next couple of years, he referred to Ipar and Julia as redshirts.

Also discussed the effect of the team cap at 18 players, and that all can be on scholarship now.
Don't expect new walk-ons next year:  he has to keep room for the four new players coming in 2026.

I keep finding things I don't like about the ACC.  The "Stanford" announcer on ACCNx welcomed everyone to "another late night game".  Uh, since when is 7PM late night?   Can't get the East Coast bias out of the ACC....,

As for the service errors, it seems a 48% point scoring percentage is pretty good.

Can someone explain to me why the same player (#10) served at 12-14 and at 13-15 in the first set?   Have they instituted a rule that lets a player do that?   (If not, why didn't the player, or Stanford, catch this?)

Certainly no rule change to allow that.

A couple of possibilities:  the play-by-play was just recorded incorrectly.

Or, the first serve by Zoey Dood was the mistake.  After the media timeout, they checked and realized it was now her turn to serve.
Since Stanford won the point off her mistaken serve, there was nothing to change in the score.

I do recall once during the match when the down ref consulted with the scorer's table and then the coaches.  I thought that was in the third set; maybe I am misremembering, or maybe it happened more than once.

I have been posting a chart like this for WBB for a while and with the new roster limits going into effect next year I can now do this more easily for WVB.

With new rules going into effect next year the roster limit will be 19 with no walk-ons above that allowed.

Not a recording error. I noticed her because of her ponytail on the 12-14 point and again at 13-15. I went back in the video to confirm it. 

In the broadcast, there is a delay before the 2nd serve and the Virginia score on the video drops back to 14 and then returns to 15. 

My guess, without checking the rules, is that out of rotation can only cause a loss of the current point. Once the next point starts, the score isn’t changed. I may go back and figure out when they got out of rotation.
