With new rules going into effect next year the roster limit will be 19 with no walk-ons above that allowed.

Thanks for this! But you missed carrying the 2025-26 freshmen forward as sophomores and juniors the next two years.

In the broadcast, there is a delay before the 2nd serve and the Virginia score on the video drops back to 14 and then returns to 15. 

My guess, without checking the rules, is that out of rotation can only cause a loss of the current point. Once the next point starts, the score isn’t changed. I may go back and figure out when they got out of rotation.

Oh, I do remember seeing that flip-flop with the score.

A rotation error can cause the loss of more than one point, because I've seen it happen.  A player served out of turn; her team won the point. Same player served again, they won another point.  Then the mistake was caught.  They lost both points.  That was a single service run, and the team making the mistake initally won the points.  

In this case, the opposing team (Stanford) served in between - not sure if that matters, but it might. And Stanford won both points.

Thanks.  Quick question... if a server wins more than one point before being identified as being out of rotation, do all the points go to the other team or are all the points revoked and one point goes to the opponent (the side out), while the rest of the points would be null since the wrong team was serving.

You could imagine a situation where an astute coach realizes that the wrong player is serving for the opponent and instructs their own team to purposefully lose points a bunch of points before challenging that the player is out of rotation.

Virginia Tech at Stanford tonight 7:00pm PT on ACCNX.  Tech is 1-14 in conference.  They got swept by Cal last night.

Brief highlights of Harvey from last night.  She has an amazing vertical jump.  I hope Harvey continues to play with confidence.

And, I didn't jinx things; we finish the first set with a 100% side-out percentage and no attack errors.  In fact, other than Jordyn Harvey's service error at 24-7, we had no errors whatsoever; no attack errors, no receive errors, and no block errors.
