Well waiting for more guesses but while we do
Who has played the most games at Pac Bell Park
Who has the most hits there
What pitcher has the most wins
It’ll always be Pac Bell Park to me
If you’re watching the game don’t answer unless you missed this

Pitcher who never threw a no-hitter... Mad Bum.
And Bobbb, back in the day I sat next to Tito on some flights. I had a vague memory about the boxing.
Hit batter or catcher's interference.
#5? Heston?

There are 14 combined no-hitters in MLB history. Two Hall of Fame pitchers participated in two of the games. Who?
RE: Sports trivia thread -
BobK - 04-12-2021
Hoyt Wilhelm one ?
RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-12-2021
Nope, good guess. During his time as a starter for the O's he did no-hit the Yanks. Complete game of course.
Wilhelm was the first player to pitch in 1,000 games. He resides in sixth place. Who have more pitching appearances?

Dennis Eckersley
Mariano Riveiera
Trevor Hoffman
Lee Smith

RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-12-2021
Ruth was one of the combined.
Rivera fourth, Eck fifth. Not Fingers for top 5 most games.
RE: Sports trivia thread -

Ok I’ll go Fingers in the combined list.
Gossage 1,000 games
RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-13-2021
Fingers the other on the combined list.
Jesse Orosco most games, then Mike Stanton, John Franco, Rivera, Eck, Wilhelm.
First to 1,000, Wilhelm.

Who was the first regular starting pitcher in baseball history to have a strikeout rate of over one per inning in a season?
RE: Sports trivia thread -
BobK - 04-13-2021
Ryne Duran over one K per inning. But probably Hoss Addie 1904
Never ever would have guessed the top three over 1,000 games
RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-13-2021
Duren was not a regular starting pitcher.
LOL on your Addie Hoss. There was an Addie Joss who died way too young but he isn't the guy. There was also a Hoss Cartwright (Dan Blocker) but he was on the Ponderosa and he too died way too young.
Hint on the first starter to average over a K per inning... Indians.

Bob Feller
Who on the show Ponderosa once held the HS javelin national record ?
RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-13-2021
Lorne Green.
Not Feller... not Newhouser... not Lemon... not Wynn.
