Hodel/Rockwell take silver, falling to the #1 seed 2-1. They had an early lead in the first set (8-6), but couldn't hang on to it, losing 21-17. They led most of the second and won that 21-19. The teams traded points for a while in the third, but TCU gradually opened up a lead and won it 15-12.
Very impressed with freshman Brooke Rockwell.

Watched most of a match from Thailand where Wilson/Morin easily defeated a weak team from Morocco, 21-13, 21-10.
They are now 2-0.
Now Sorra/Glagau are playing Malaysia:

Up 12-9 at first time out.
ETA:
Well, that wasn't much of a competition. Canadians win 21-14, 21-14, they are 1-1.

MPSF is about as good as Stanford could have possibly hoped for. There will probably be other West Coast Women's beach teams that will join the conference with Stanford, USC, and UCLA being the bellwether schools.

Wilson & Morin went 3-0 in pool play, and are into the round of 16. They play at 8:50am local time (5:50pm PST).
Sorra/Glagau in a 3-way tie at 2-1 in their pool. Apparently point-ratio is the tie-breaker, since they also won their pool and are in the round of 16. They play at 5:00 PST.
The two teams are in opposite halves of the bracket, so would not meet until the medal rounds, if they keep winning.

Sorra/Glagau apparently had an easy time with #2 seed from Ukraine, advancing to the quarterfinals, 21-11, 21-13.
They play again at 10pm (PST) tonight.
Unfortunately, Wilson/Morin had a tough match against the #1 seed, a team from Thailand, who obviously had the crowd on their side. USA won the first set 21-15, and were up by a point (13-12) in the second when I started watching. But the Thais took it 22-20. The Americans fell behind in the third, down 10-5, got back within two at 12-10, but then were down 14-10. They held off four match points to tie it, but couldn't get any farther, losing 16-14. (They actually scored more points over the three sets, but of course, that doesn't matter). So they end tied for 9th.

Sorra/Glagau fall to the #3 seed, 21-17, 21-17. They finish tied for 5th.
Great experience for them.
Eager to see what Stanford BVB does in the spring.
