Kiana already scores plenty nowadays, just think about her playing the #1 on that '10-'11 squad with Pohlen, Pedersen and the Ogwumikes. She would have been the 3rd or 4th scoring option on that team and would have an absolute terror for opposing teams to defend when they already had to worry about everyone else.
Agreed.  Put Kianna on the 10-11 team that lost to A&M in the semis and we win that year's national championship.  Several of the other teams she might have made the difference--but that year it was obvious we needed a skilled ball handler that could also score.  Heck, put a mature Amber Orrange on that team and it would have made the difference too.  Jeanette couldn't do it by herself, and Toni Kokenis and Sara James were freshmen, and Mel Murphy almost pulled it off for us.  But put Williams or even Amber Orrange on that team and it would have been unstoppable.

Isn't counterfactual history fun!

while you're at it, give the starting point guard for 2010-11, jj hones, a one-month suspension instead of kicking her off the team in may of her junior year, and we have a national championship.

I'm not sure if I missed it here, but after the game, "ASU coach Charli Turner Thorne said [Kiara] Russell is “most likely” out for the season."  What a shame.   I wish her the best after basketball.

What a shame, indeed. It's always sad to see a player go down, no matter whether she (or he) is from one's own team or from another. This is a young person who has been injured, no mater who you're rooting for. I vividly remember a game against Cal a few years back when a key Cal player was hurt game and thinking, on no. And then, it might be an advantage for the Card, but I don't want to win that way.

Sadly, sometimes, injuries occur when the officials aren't keeping adequate control of a game. That wasn't the case with Russell's injury given the way it happened, or Haley's injury at OSU in January, but it certainly felt that way last year when Nadia was hurt in the game against USC.
