Trump being taken to Walter Reed Hospital, from which he will be conducting business.
This will allow more sophisticated monitoring.

Precautionary for a "few days". This was how BoJo's hospitalization was first announced as well.

I think that is a very favorable interpretation of what is happening. I wouldn't expect the official information to be more dire, but the reasons to copter away to Walter Reed likely includes a decision that POTUS should be closer to more sophisticated equipment.
I would guess the conversation included the idea that it will be better to helicopter out of the WH in a less than urgent way rather than wait and potentially need to race through the streets in the BEAST or an ambulance.
Honestly doesn't look good.
Just on Tuesday he was mocking Joe Biden for wearing a mask and taking a bunch of precautions. Really could not have imagined just 72 hours later he would be on Marine One going to Walter Reed.

I'm sure he'd want us to know its only so he can inspect the hospital.

This is evidence that he is too unwell to send his own Tweets.
Hard to imagine the line "We will get through this together" was typed by Trump.

He hasn't tweeted in hours. That is particularly odd.
No matter what happens from here, he will no longer be able to say COVID19 is basically just the flu any more.
As long as he is in Walter Reed the news coverage will focus on his health and the deadly potential of COVID19. I can only imagine President Trump didn't want to get on his copter given the optics, so it is significant that he will be making this trip.

One concerning thing is that he's progressed from first positive test, to symptomatic, to hospitalized (and even if you assume that the threshold for moving him to Walter Reed is lower, that still represents an escalation).

Last comment. We are talking about the health of the President of the United States. F--k the optics (and I am very aware of Presidents like FDR and JFK worried about the optics).

I want to know when Trump's last negative tests were, what his pulse oxygenation is now.
This does seem to be moving pretty quickly.

In August there were a few revelations that POTUS might not get tested as often as you might think since everyone around him was tested and he didn't like the idea of testing for COVID.
No way we will get a lot of details from here given the limited medical history we have been given to date for POTUS45 coupled with the history of White House administrations offering rather rosy almost fictional stories about the health developments.

I'm convinced it's real.
Various folks on Twitter opine that Trump wouldn't have gotten Regeneron unless there was fire underneath the smoke (given all the reason why not to take an untrialed therapy as the sitting executive of a world superpower). Indirect measure of worry. And now he's at Walter Reed. Secrets.

Good point by Bremmer. Trump is the kind of guy who would have had to have been dragged kicking and screaming to Walter Reed.

Trump recorded an 18 second video tweet before he left the White House.
In other developments, 3 WH journalists tested positive today. They work in close quarters so it is possible it spreads further.

I’ve read Moore’s take and I wouldn’t summarize it by saying he’s “certain that it’s a campaign stunt.”
Moore draws out why it might not be true — because Trump is a serial liar, because he is losing badly in the polls, because every day more news of his and his administration’s poor character and corruption comes to light (his comments on veterans, Woodward’s book, Melania’s recording, Guilfoyle’s sexual harassment settlement, his tax returns showing he was absolutely financially desperate when he ran in 2016, etc.) and lists those as reasons why Trump needed to change things very badly. He also reminds everyone that Trump is a cunning, mendacious survivor, so people should be wary and cautious. Not bad advice.
I think it is more likely Trump truly is sick. I think Trump is addicted to the crowds and adulation, the constant never-ending Twitter Messianic complex. He is so insecure he has never once stopped proclaiming his “strength and stamina” to the point of absurdity with the health summary he dictated to his doctor.
I have commented in the past that these needs supercede Trump’s own rational best interest for political survival, and now they may have supeceded his literal survival, as well.
RE: Donald Trump tested positive for COVID -

I think initial caution about the truthfulness was certainly warranted. This WH has not been truthful in general, and about covid specifically, and the WH medical corps has been perhaps the MOST untruthful part of the administration, quite an achievement of sorts.
But to sustain a conspiracy when you have 2 other GOP senators, the president of ND, and several journalists?

The glee in these parts is amazing (though I admit to asking my law school buddies "Who says there is no God (and that he has no sense of humor?)" But it was in the context of assumed survival, which I still think is very likely - even though Trump is old and overweight (and may have other vulnerabilities that we don't know of). We'll see.
Fascinating developments. But a friendly comment: it's these kinds of comments that turn off Middle America. And you don't want it turning off too many Middle Americans in swing states.
