OK, any package proposals for Stafford assuming the Watson deal is too costly?

#1 pick this year, McGlinchey, Mostert or Wilson.

And Dallas converted those draft picks into Emmit Smith (they traded their second round pick to Pittsburgh to trade up to get Smith in the first round).

here's a list of all the players they got with the draft picks, other notable players gotten with those picks were Russell Maryland and Darren Woodson

shouldn't Russell Maryland be in the Cowboys column?

RE: OT Niners - BostonCard - 01-27-2021

Yes, and Jake REed should be in Minnesota's; sorry, I transposed the two when attempting to copy the table over.

Among other things, Emmitt Smiyh won:
8× Pro Bowl (1990–1995, 1998, 1999)
4× First-team All-Pro (1992–1995)
2× Second-team All-Pro (1991, 1996)
NFL Most Valuable Player (1993)
NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year (1990)
4× NFL rushing yards leader (1991–1993, 1995)
3x NFL rushing touchdowns leader (1992, 1994-1995)
NFL 1990s All-Decade Team
NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team

Darren Woodson:
5× Pro Bowl (1994–1998)
4× First-team All-Pro (1994–1996, 1998)

Kevin Smith:
All-Pro (1996)

Russell Maryland:
Pro Bowl (1993)

On the other hand Jake Reed, while a productive receiver for Minnesota (he had four 1,000-yard seasons in his career), never made the Pro Bowl.

RE: OT Niners - 82lsju - 01-28-2021

and the centerpiece of the Herschel Walker trade played for the Vikings for 2 and 2/3rds seasons, in total he ran for 2,264 yards before moving to the Eagles

lex24 - lex24 - 01-28-2021

Then, of course, there is Dikta trading his entire draft to move up so he could take Ricky Williams. That went up in a puff of smoke.....

yes those trades were in a different time but I'm still amazed at how many of the players chose not to go to their new team

Les Richter trade

of the 11 players six appear to not have played

Ollie Matson trade did not have no shows but many of the players had short post-trade careers

RE: OT Niners - BostonCard - 01-30-2021

Scratch off Stafford. I didn't quite see this one coming; the Lions trading Stafford to the Rams for Jared Goff, two future first round picks and a thrid round pick.

BC

RE: OT Niners - Phogge - 01-30-2021

So Goff disappears in the miasma that is Detroit and the Niners will keep JimmyG and their picks.

lex24 - lex24 - 01-31-2021

Wilson, Murray, Stafford .  Niners just fell further behind.

RE: OT Niners - BostonCard - 02-01-2021

Here's one mock draft with the Niners picking a CB with their first pick.

BC

RE: OT Niners - Phogge - 02-01-2021

A couple of mocks have the Niners picking Trey Lance. And perhaps Walker Little should have played in 2020 since I can't find him in the first round anywhere. I'm assuming that he has to impress at the combine to have a chance.

RE: OT Niners - BostonCard - 02-01-2021

I think Little will get dinged a little bit because of risk.  He has high potential in the NFL, but he was hurt in some of his Stanford career and we've never seen him post-injury.  Hopefully he took advantage to rehab and train.
