Switched starter at CB to Zahran Manley, and marked Ethan Bonner as injured.

Removed starting demarcation from Tucker Fisk at TE and JMF at ILB because the infamous "or" was added to their names on the depth chart.

Marked Jimmy Wyrick as the nickleback.

Walk-On Union Watch. Four non-scholarship players got PT against the Trojans.

LS Kyle Petrucci, sr. Played in his second game of the season, not sure if it was for kicks or punts.
DE Trey LaBounty, sr. Played in his second game of the season.
ILB Jake Lynch, sr. Played in his second game of the season.
ILB Jason Kaul, jr. Debuting at his new position.

In addition...

WR Brycen Tremayne, a senior former walk-on, started and had three catches for 49 yards and a TD. It is pretty amazing that a player goes from walk-on to in the conversation for player of the game against USC.
OLB Thunder Justice Keck, a fifth-year former walk-on, did not play again. Injured?
P Ryan Sanborn, a junior former walk-on, punted three times for a 46.7-yard average (good!), including one downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line, and one 59-yard missile. He also punted once into the endzone for a touchback.
S Noah Williams, a fifth-year former walk-on, started and led the team with 9 tackles.
ILB Spencer Jorgensen, a junior former walk-on, played and recorded a tackle.

CB Jimmy Wyrick was the starting nickleback and had six tackles with one PBU. What a great start to his college career!

Are you sure? I think it was Brendon Barrow, who shares the same number as William Stockwell (26). Barrow would make a lot more sense.

M*A*S*H Unit. The following players did not appear against the Trojans due to injury or COVID protocol.

Wide Receiver
- Michael Wilson, sr. (out until midseason) missed his second game.
Cornerback
- STM, jr. (out for the season) missed his second game.
Safety
- Jonathan McGill, jr. (out for the season) missed his second game.

All three are starters or key contributors.

Armitage was in on at least the last series.

Second your comment about Wyrick. Good length, seemed to be aggressive. No mention of him in any preseason prognostications that I can find.

They have to do something to juice up the pass rush.

My bad on Stockwell. I think I saw #26 in 2 different camera shots and totally blanked on it just being Barrow twice.

However, I did also notice #32, freshman Mitch Leigber, on kickoff cover team as well. He should be included here, as should Jaden Slocum who played a few snaps on defense (even pre-garbage time, giving Manley a breather) in addition to some STs.

Armitage did in fact play defense, getting a bunch of reps in garbage time. Didn't look too out of place given he's only 255-260lbs.

and what a crucial breakup it was. the Toejams were trailing 14-7, and had 2nd and 5 at the Stanford 7.

I am 99.99% sure West did not play and the participation report is wrong on that one. McKee took every QB snap (even in garbage time) outside of the Sanders package.

I was surprised to see that Alaka’i Gilman did not play. I think it’s in our best interests to develop him and Omari Porter.

I could be wrong, but I think he’s injured along with all the other injured DBs. I don’t think he’s appearing on the depth chart anymore. Coach Akina also made a comment in an interview last week that suggested to me that he might be hurt.

Demarcated Jones, Filkins, and Smith as injured (though someone suggested that Jones and Filkins may not be injured, but out for other reasons). Peat marked as starter.

Marked Farrell as kick-off and punt returner.

Demarcated Williams as injured.

In general, I only mark a player as a starter if there is not an "or" after their name in the official team depth chart. Thus, for instance, I did not mark JMF as starter since he is listed as "or" with Damuni.

New this year is marking two players as starter at TE on the official depth chart. It's weird, because it makes for 12 starters. So I only mark the first one listed as starter, which has always been Fisk.

Finally, I removed Woods from the roster. I TOTALLY missed this. When did he leave the team? My apologies. I should have been on top of that.

DE Aaron Armitage played in his second game in a row, and had three tackles.
RB Brendon Barrow played on ST for the second game in a row.
DE Anthony Franklin made his collegiate debut, recording a tackle. Welcome, Anthony!
CB Evan Jackson made his collegiate debut, as well. A walk-on! Good on ya.
S Mitch Leigber made his collegiate debut, recording a tackle. (Though SMF saw him get some reps against Trojans, so the official report may be off here.)
CB Jaden Slocumb made his collegiate debut, too. (Though SMF also saw him against the Trojans.)
CB Jimmy Wyrick was the starting nickleback and had four tackles, three(!) PBU, including an interception returned for six yards. He also had a QB hit. Kid's a player. Really impressive.
