The goal is an equitable balance - given the location of Stanford, there's a critical mass of folks who are fans of our local pro teams. But lately there's been a proliferation of threads about various pro teams/trivia/drafts/etc., so I suppose this is our uneasy effort to strike a balance. We're happy for folks to keep chatting, but we'd like to keep it all in one place as much as possible. :)
There’s some seasonality involved. No football. Stanford MBB ended early. WVB never got going. WBB is now over. And frankly all the other sports combined don’t generate the collective interest of any one of these. We can always wait until June to see how baseball and tennis are doing. Or you guys can always resurrect the graphene thread.

Not a bad first road trip. Taking 2 out of 3 in SD is no mean feat. (Although the Pads are a little shot handed missing Tatis, Grisham (who killed the Giants last year) and Nola). Starting pitching shined.Gausman looks like an ace. Love the fact that he’s getting outs earlier in the count. His pitch counts have been low. Bullpen an issue (although Rogers giving up an HR to Myers, who is a sure first time HOF player (if he could only play against Giants) didn’t bother me. He’s thrown fairly well. Wisler is a key guy. And you have to wonder in last year was a fluke. He was pretty bad his entire career prior to 2020. Giants need a tight handed power arm out of pen.
Hitting should pick up. But man do they need to cut down on strikeouts.
Still, a rather encouraging first week.
