Noticed the name Ladine 2 years ago. Any relation to former Del Mar great and Stanford mbb player Kirk Ladine ??

Wow, guard getting 14 rebounds; but only one assist.

From the video you can see she has been putting time in the weight room. At that age it's difficult for a female to get definition in her biceps.

Great video thanks. Plus this is a year ago. Better team better competition this year

miya verse is a 2023 who is mentioned in the same
prospects-to-watch article as nadine. she caught my eye because yale is mentioned as one of the schools recruiting her. her gpa was 3.3 as a sophomore, but someone at yale admissions seems to think she can raise it. she is only 6'0 (so far), but if you think fran can dunk, watch miya verse:

So, I was at the game last night, and PaloAltoOnline has a decent recap.
https://www.paloaltoonline.com/sports/2021/06/04/pinewood-girls-win-a-shootout-with-palo-alto-in-open-division-basketball
(For Paly fans, there was a fleeting flash of hope - down 8 in Q2 and with the ball (a couple times, iirc), but couldn't cut further into the lead. It was 13 at the half and then Pinewood turned on the after-burners in Q3).
Post here mainly to say that the video clips of Ladine may paint a certain picture of her on-court conduct/demeanor. Let me tell you that those videos are dated. As her coach notes in the article, she is a team-first player trying to fit in at Pinewood and has deferred a lot to date this season. And her shot has not been dropping. Unfortunately for Paly, Ladine came out of her shell - at least offensively - last night (she has always been strong rebounder and good defender). More generally, Ladine "just plays" - and plays very well. Easy to root for, and I will be watching her career with interest from afar.
Don't be misled by the lack of assists in the stat line last night. Ladine shares the ball well and makes some passes that few in the HS girls game do.
BTW, if Open plays out to form, Mitty v. Pinewood should be a great matchup in the final.

Mater Dei vs. Harvard Westlake highlights:
https://youtu.be/cdxlFXvQHTY
Kiki was incredible (22 points, 17 rebounds), and Brooke was very clutch for Mater Dei at the end of the game. Excited to see our rotation next year - it was tough with the bigs last year and its hard to see Kiki not factoring into it next year.
As a side note, Mater Dei's guard who bombed a couple of long threes is headed to Lindy and UNLV next season.

Sammie Wagner is visiting some schools out west:

Oregon is confirmed to be one of them. I wouldn’t be shocked if Stanford is too.

thanks for posting.
kiki looks very good indeed. brooke and kiki appeared to guard each other, and kiki seemed to get the best of it, especially in the first half.
kiki is quite aggressive - in a good way - like cameron brink.

I think we are a strong contender for Wagner and I believe she is visiting Stanford this week. She was recently asked in an IG Q&A if since decommitting from Baylor, was she considering Stanford. Her response was along the lines of absolutely as long as I can get accepted. She mentioned she would be putting out a new list of finalists soon and I'd be stunned if Stanford wasn't on that list.
At one point within the last few years, Wagner was ranked #2 in her class by ESPN, then #4, now she's dropped to #11. Still would be a major get for the 2023 class.

academic all-district (average grade of at least 90)
also, she's from san antonio, so likely saw us win the final 4.

Not recruiting, but just saw that Joslyn Tinkle has entered the coaching ranks:

She’ll be an assistant at Montana under former Oregon State assisstant Brian Holsinger.

You beat me on Jos. Stanford should schedule Montana. I was hoping Oregon state with two openings would hire Jos.

pinewood comes back from 41-29 deficit late in the 3rd quarter to defeat mitty in the playoffs. elle ladine scores 11.
mitty had won 9 of the last 10 games between the 2 schools. the
other time pinewood won was in the 2018 finals in triple overtime: pinewood was also down big - 39-23 in the 3rd - but hannah jump scored 24 as pinewood stormed back, and haley jones of mitty fouled out. in the link, there's a nice video of the game showing hannah bombing away.

I went to that game (it was right after a game at Stanford) - at Santa Clara. Probably the only HS game I've been to in the past 10 years, and an unbelievable experience.
