Yep, I learned about the Border War in grade school as part of the Kansas history segment of social studies. If you're ever driving across Kansas on I-70, I recommend a field trip to the Beecher Bible & Rifle Church:

In any case, it's further proof to me that it's kind of ridiculous to refer to a football rivalry as a war.

The "civil war" reference to the Oregon/OSU game has always been cringe-worthy. Or at least grimace-inducing. I will own-up to this, however: when Stanford was kicking-***, my tolerance for idiotic fanaticism was unbounded. With me as a star idiot.
