RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - Lorcan - 11-21-2021

Up by 4 with a minute to go. All I care about at this juncture is escaping with the win.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - martyup - 11-21-2021

4-12 from the charity stripe.  Gawd!

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - mbdude - 11-21-2021

4 of 12 fts!!

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - Lorcan - 11-21-2021

4-12 from the FT line. If we lose this, it’s well deserved with that shooting.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - mbdude - 11-21-2021

triangle2 - triangle2 - 11-21-2021

Agonizingly slow video review going on…

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - martyup - 11-21-2021

We win it by 4!!  All Right Now!!

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - Lorcan - 11-21-2021

A win is a win. Lots to work on…..

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - spike5882 - 11-21-2021

Glad we pulled that one out.  Credit Jump for starting a run in the 2nd quarter, and Brink and Belibi for being aggressive the whole time while they were on the court. Hopefully FT shooting was a fluke today.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - martyup - 11-21-2021

We ended up 8-18 at the free throw line.  GU was 17-19.  No excuse for that.  Need to practice free throws more.

I wholeheartedly echo the sentiment, but it would probably be more accurate to say Plenty Wrong Now…

Puzzling…

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Gonzaga 1pm Sunday - 81alum - 11-21-2021

With the loss of Jones, and given that our rotation already was unsettled, and given the difficulty of this environment--this is a really significant win.  Lots of things to improve, but let's be pleased that Jones's absence has not done damage to the season so far.

But it only get harder after this.  Indiana and Maryland around the corner.  The schedule is brutal.  I hope the puzzle pieces come together fast.

Not at all puzzling.  This team revolves around Jones as the chief play maker.  You don't lose a triple-double unexpectedly without it disscombobuilating the team.  The fact that we won in spite of that is actually encouraging.

All three games next week will be tough.  UConn barely eeked out a win against USF today with Bueckers and Fudd needing to have some end of teh game heroics.  They will be tough, too.

Yeah, that's the way I look at it. We beat a good team on the road without our best player. What's not to like about that?

Like the win, but not the 8-18 free throw shooting.  Must improve that aspect of our game.

Was Jones on the bench? I remember her freshman year after injury, Stanford never even came out with a statement on her injury..just that she was out or unavailable. I wish the program was more forthcoming like every other program in the county is about those types of matters.

She was there, on the bench in street clothes

she was also standing next to tara as kate gave instructions during a time out in the last minute. tara was patting her on the back in what seemed to be reassurance. haley did not seem in physical discomfort. hard to see with all the players around, but i did not see any leg brace or similar. certainly no crutches. what i noticed is that she was bundled up in pants, long sleeved shirt plus thick sweater - ie more clothing than the coaches - as one might be with a cold or flu.

She did take a hard fall on her hip during the 2nd half of the Texas game.

At 4PM, it is 42 degrees in Spokane.
I would hope that a player with a fever (cold or flu or that-which-some-don't-want-us-to-talk-about) would NOT be next to the coach or with the other players.

I hope it isn't concussion protocol.
