1. One thing you can bank on: Oregon will improve as the season progresses and be a force in P12 Tourney (they may be before then this season);
2. UW, and particularly Daejon Davis, will want to beat Stanford (and Haase) so badly. I predict him being in MOC's and Silva's grill all game long.
3. The team is winning close games lately - a great sign. But as noted above, we need to see these kind of outcomes late-season.
4. Right now, there is ample reason for hope. And man is that a good feeling for Stanford men's sports.

Similar to a game earlier in the season where we were up big and let the team layup their way back into the game...was that Oregon? Or one of the other close games.
But the fact that the team put themselves in a position to blow a lead is good, right? =)

Was watching ESPN last night and saw the game schedule on the bottom line. It said WSU -7.5 and I believe it was 84% chance to win according to BPI. I assumed BPI must know a lot more than I do about Stanford and WSU and figured Stanford had zero chance.
Then later I saw the final score and thought "I guess BPI isn't very accurate or something has switched in Stanford's team and they now are better than at the start of the season."
I mean, if they were to play Santa Clara now, would they win that game? And what has changed that they are now doing after the hiatus, that they weren't doing before it?
I'm still quite skeptical given the Hasse track record, but obviously progress finally appears afoot. The thing I simply couldn't believe is they won that game with Ingram going 1-6 FG, 4pts and just 4 boards in 30 minutes!

I could only see the first half of this one and then spent the last hour of it sneaking updates on my phone. Before the game started, I was convinced Stanford'd lose this one. It's historically the type of game Haase's teams lose, especially on the road and following a good win. The first half did little to dispel that assumption. I'm still somewhat stunned they pulled it together for the win. I'm with those of you who never would've thought this team could win a road match without Ingram shining. Happy to see Angel emerge as a great option off the bench. Very pleased to see Jones expand his game, gaining confidence again in his 3-point shot but also willing to slash some and shoot midrange jumpers. And more than happy to be wrong on Keefe -- he's shown good court awareness on both ends of the floor. I still half-expect the wheels to come off as the conference schedule continues, but keep hope alive.
Question for those who saw the whole game: Was there any evidence that the coaches made adjustments that helped turn the tide, or was it mainly a matter of WSU going cold (albeit in response to whatever Stanford threw at them)?

Sometimes you get really lucky. WSU missed a number of easy shots. But wins are wins.

So I watched the replay of the game last night. WSU didn't miss THAT many easy shots in 2H. A couple for sure; but another one was a shot clock violation. I thought Stanford's D in 2H was close to excellent against WSU. And making shots is contagious . . . or so it appears (as is clanging shots).
