An upset over Arizona would be so awesome today, but win or lose it doesn't diminish how awesome the last 3 mins of last night's game was.

Also, that last 3 mins doesn't change the bigger picture:
- It was only Haase's third postseason win in six seasons
- It probably doesn't get Stanford into the Not Important Tournament

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - martyup - 03-10-2022

ESPN is giving Stanford a chance against AZ.  5.2%

LOL. I guess they polled 1000 people and 52 picked Stanford.

Reminds me of the response of the SF Weather Bureau in the 60's. When asked how they came up with a figure of a 70% chance of rain the next day the answer was, "We have ten people in the office and seven of them guessed rain."

I really feel like I don't need to watch any more Ted Lasso (I only got to season 2) because we have our very own real-life version. This isn't an indictment, just an observation.

MOC is feelin' it. We are hanging with the 'Cats. 22-25.

We are now ahead 32-30. Go Cardinal!

We believe!
Or is it Don’t Stop Believing?
37-35

I would love, love to be proven wrong!

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - PVTree - 03-10-2022

Didn't like the lineup to close the half...Beskin, Kisunas, Silva in at the same time. A non-offensive lineup.

The result: 8-0 kittykat run, and we trail 40-37. I wish Kisunas would at least have made one of his FTs to end the half trailing by 2.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - JJJ - 03-10-2022

37-40 at the half as Kisunas couldn’t convert either FT. Who’da thunk it? (The score, I meant.)

We were up 39-37 @ UA last week at half. I'm not holding my breath.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - burger - 03-10-2022

These officials are horrible.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - ColoradoTree - 03-10-2022

I am decidedly not getting my hopes up here, but I am getting mildly interested: Stanford up 54-53 with 13:45 left to play....

Now 61-60 Stanford with 9:40 left. Interest level starting to approach medium.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - TooMuchTV - 03-10-2022

73-72 Stanford with 4:27 to go.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - ColoradoTree - 03-10-2022

They fall short, 84-80. But that was a heck of an effort.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - burger - 03-10-2022

At the end of the game, I could almost hear Muir thinking "Well, that was pretty close.  Let's give him one more season."

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - PVTree - 03-10-2022

I think the ORs and putbacks by Koloko was the difference. We played as well as possible, and we just needed a few more breaks to get the upset.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - Canalejas - 03-10-2022

That was exciting.  Too bad the ball didn't bounce our way at the end.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - old spanish trail - 03-10-2022

I watched yesterday's come back and today's game with more than mild surprise. Having given Haase alot of crap over the season, I have to applaud the season's end. Yesterday, I'd say, great game, but he still has to go. Today has me rethinking. They had a plan, they executed it, and they almost won.The fact I'm rethinking is irritating. Here's the thing. What do the players think? Do they strongly support Haase or are they saying he's a good guy but we should have been better all season. The one bit of coaching I heard was coaches telling Jones he has to get up 15 shots. That's good coaching. Were they telling him that all year or just the last few games, etc.

Anyhow, I'm still rethinking....and irritated.

RE: MBB: Pac-12 tournament - martyup - 03-10-2022

I am impressed with the way our team finished the season in the Pac-12 tourney.  Compare this game to our 39 point debacle against cal.

If either one of the 3s attempted by Jones or MOC on our 2nd to last possession would have fallen, we probably win.  Keefe couldn't be the hero two days in a row, but he held his own.

BTW, our first shot attempt in the game was Keefe from beyond the arc.  What?  Was he so pumped after his heroics against ASU that he thought he could start dropping 3s?  All season he wouldn't even attempt a wide open shot from the FT line.

I'll credit Haase for finally figuring out that the key to success is keeping Delaire off the court for as long as possible.  He only played 14 minutes today and 16 minutes yesterday.
