Let’s be honest here.  Unless we are involved with a team, we generally don’t know how players feel about a coach.  It’s pretty rare for players to speak out. (Although Baldwin and Sherman certainly let folks know how they felt about Harbaugh).

Whether players “like” an HC is largely irrelevant.  As long as he’s not abusive.  And we know Shaw is not. Whether they respect him, however, is crucial.

If a player insurgency surfaces in the coming weeks (or days), let the record show that I was not among the "it can't happen here" crowd.

People who know have intimated that a significant number of players will avail themselves of the transfer portal. The question for me is does that serve as a pressure release valve, or do those players speak up on their way out.

If it's Cooper, Bailey, Moi, Anderson, etc., another big sign time for Shaw to bail.

And...if it doesn't?

They usually don't because it could jeopardize potential destinations. But I think any player who enters the portal short of graduation speaks volumes about what they think of the program. Grad transfers are a completely different story in terms of being a reflection on the program.

My hope is that any player who is entering the portal due to frustration with the program has the courage to communicate privately with Muir.

Same here, especially since it's happened once before

Fisher Anderson, frosh tackle. I hear folks think he will be pretty good.
