Makes sense that Pancer is transferring to Georgia since he is from the state. Plus I would assume he is only on a partial scholarship.

Baseball is a NCAA partial scholarship sport. 11.7 scholarships for 35 players.

Someone posted that he hasn't graduated from Stanford. Meaning, he'll get his degree from UGA. And, is unlikely to make the majors. Doesn't seem like a smart move to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

Montgomery is on the roster of a Cape Cod league team AS A PITCHER!

To wrap up the draft, all of the Stanford players drafted have now signed according to the MLB draft tracker.
Dowd signed for the most over slot value ($400K versus value of $195.8K).
As a difference, Troy signed for the most under slot value ($4.4 million vsus $5.04 million); but as a ratio Bruno was most under slot ($140K vs $256.7K).
In the Cape Cod League, it appears that so far Braden Montgomery has appeared as a pitcher in 1 game, went 1.0 innings, with 2 strikeouts. no runs, no hits, no walks. At the plate he has gone 4-14, with one double, appearing in 4 games.
Haskins has gone 5-11 in 3 games with a double and a HR.
Don't know of any other Stanford players in the Cape.
Moore and Montgomery played for Team USA which played seires vs Taiwan and then Japan from late June through mid July.
Don't know what the rest of the team is doing over the summer. Once upon a time the Stanford web site would post a summer rundown, but I don't see it this year.

I thought the same. Seeing that most of the players from his recruiting class are moving on may have played into his decision to sign. His recruiting class has been the identity of the team for the past 2 years or so. The make, identity and the dynamic of the team next year will be completely different.
