Thanks for the heads up for us all

The scores bounce around too much for me to understand the significance.  In 5 minutes Stanford went from -14 to -8 to +4.

Ah.... a stable point.  Going into the final rotation, Stanford is up by 2.4(NB), 2.87 (OK), and 3.0 (MI) over the next 3 teams.  But I don't know the expected point differential on those team's scoring on each's last rotation.

In any case,  Go Stanford.

Ah... looks like ESPN is showing the qualifying scores of each team on their final apparatus. If those scores were repeated, Stanford would win by less than a point. So it is still too close to call. Stanford on the rings. OK on the vault.

(I can't judge quality of the performance other than talk of the landing)
First OK guy stuck his landing. 14.200
First Stanford guy was good in the air but had a weak landing. 13.633
Second OK guy took a step 14.133
Second Stanford guy had a little step 13.100
Third OK guy hops on landing.
Third Stanford guy sticks a great routine. 14.166
Fourth OK guy sticks his landing
Fourth Stanford guy has a small hop.

National Championship!

You have to feel good when your anchor gymnast on the final apparatus (rings) was the NCAA champion on rings in 2024 and 2025. Asher Hong wasn't quite at that level in 2026. He finished 2nd this year. But his routine was good enough to clinch the championship. What a great way for a senior to wrap up his fantastic career!! Congratulations to Coach Glielmi and the entire team.

50 YEARS IN A ROW!!! A remarkable streak.

Talk about peaking at the right time.  I think this was a season high 329.825 in the finals.  Of note, the 327 from the semis wouldn’t have been enough, as Oklahoma ended in second at 328.495.  Noe else was close.

Congrats to the team!  Ranked #2 with the upset over #1 Oklahoma!  What a clutch meet to win it all :)

Asher Hong was nursing some injuries throughout the season but he delivered when needed. A lot of his routines were “watered down”. I think the standout gymnast of the meet is Cooper Kim, winning the floor event. He was great in all of the events he competed. Shoutout to freshman Jun Iwai for winning (tie) Vault. Nic Kuebler was great too.

Great team effort and performance across the board

Hong’s parallel routine (even the announcer jinx “he’s known for sticking this dismount” wasn’t strong enough:

And here’s a floor pass by Kim;
