That was an incredible guess.

He's an elite graduate from an elite school in the West. What do you expect? Not from some cowboy school who wins NCAA rodeo titles.

Actually, not quite correct. Turns out Seaver didn't sign when he was drafted in 1965, and is officially considered part of the 1966 draft class. Although now that I reread your question, he was, technically, drafted in 65 by the Dodgers.

Only two MLB players have won the triple crown and hit over.400 for a season. One of them did it twice. Only one won an MVP in a triple crown year. Name them.

Giants - 04-19-2021
Curt Casali caught his fourth consecutive shutout for the Giants tonight.
The last time a Giants receiver accomplished that feat was in 1901 (Broadway Aleck Smith). The question: who was the pitcher who pitched all four shutouts?
RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-20-2021
Rube Marquard, Iron Man Mcginnty, Christy Mathewson.

Who is the only Boston-Milwaukee-Atlanta Brave Hall of Famer to play for one team?
RE: Sports trivia thread -

Eddie Matthews

No, Matthews but he is the answer to another question. What is the question?
The answer to a previous question: Rogers Hornsby is the only hitter to have won the Triple Crown, hit .400 and won the MVP. There was no award given for his earlier achievement and none for Napoleon Lajoie when he won the T.C. and hit .400.
New Q; Albert Pujols ranks 14th in total hits. Who are the 13 who have more career hits?
RE: Sports trivia thread -
BostonCard - 04-20-2021
Pete Rose
Ty Cobb
Ichiro Suzuki
(all members of the 4000 hit club)
Better yet, Pujoles is #5 in total bases. Who are the four players ahead of him?

BC, you must have been the pencil sharpener, window monitor and hall supervisor when you were at Exeter or Phillips Andover or wherever.
LOL on making the question more precise. Excluding JAPAN, I should have said.
Rose, Cobb. Eleven to go. LMFAO, as Doc would say.

Matthews. Yes or no?
Ah more trivia. Boston Card Torrey Pines HS??
RE: Sports trivia thread -
Phogge - 04-20-2021
Matthews is the only player to remain with the Braves from Boston through their second relocation.
Chipper Jones is one of 58 Hall of Famers to play for only one team and the only Brave.
After reading today's Giants notes in the Chron I would think that Mathewson is the Giant who threw the four shutouts in Giants question.

I know Molityor, Ripken and Brett are in the 3000 hit club, I just don't know if they've been passed by Pujoles. I think Gwynn has.
