I've known Greg for over 20 years. He is a UCLA fan, he told me so.

The issue for me wasn't whether or not Biggins is a UCLA fan, it was whether he has pro-UCLA or anti-USC bias in his work. I don't read everything he writes, but I don't detect homer-ism in his free articles. Maybe it shows up behind the paywall.

Interesting. I have an old i-phone 8 and typed Biggins into the text message program and it was autocorrected to Higgins. I tried Bighins (the h is next to the g so it's an easy mistake to make) and it autocorrected to Bighorns. Tried a few other misspellings but couldn't get it to correct to Ugh uns.

I think most phones nowadays have some kind of built-in machine learning (probably the wrong term) that allows them to adapt their autocorrect to what you type most frequently?

I'm going with the assumption that Bailey is the biggest remaining fish for Stanford 2022. Versus Orange Lutheran last weekend, he had 1 forced fumble, 2 sacks, 1 pass breakup and 5 solo tackles.

Bailey and Moi would be a heck of a boost to the the front seven (or six) in upcoming years. With modern offenses in the Pac-12 relying so heavily on the pass, Stanford can’t win if it doesn’t get pressure on opposing QBs.

While I am not sure exactly, it seems to me that the Pac 12 seems to be moving toward less emphasis on the pass game.
That definitely seems true for the better teams ... well better teams plus Colorado which simply cannot pass at all right now.

Below is the current % run plays for each conference team. This seems much more run-heavy than recent years, but I don't have time to run the numbers for other years right now.  
Notable is UCLA, ASU, and OSU much more run heavy than recent memory. Oregon has been run heavy for awhile.
WSU is not at all like Leach-WSU.
Former leading rushing teams Utah and Stanford seem to have changed drastically.

Strangely, not a single team runs between 50 and 60% of the time. Quite the two-peaked distribution.

Percent Run Plays, in order:
COLO - 66.1%
UCLA - 65.5%
OSU - 62.4%
ASU - 61.2%
ORE - 60.6%
Utah - 48.6%
cal - 48.0%
ARIZ - 47.0%
UW - 46.8%
WSU - 44.8%
Stan - 44.4%
U$C - 40.4%

I don't know about this guy but Ewen Bremner was the Ranger toting the Browning M60, 7.62x51mm machine gun with a bipod on the front. Can deliver a ton of rounds to lay havoc in street warfare. Sometimes called "The Pig" for its weight and round appetite. Generally assigned in Vietnam to a three man crew. Used by some Spec Ops personnel into the 21st Century. Fun rifle. Cut down many a Somali.

in previous job, I had chance to shoot M-60s, its replacement (not positive on number) and the squad automatic weapons.  definitely eye-opening and ear-shattering.  1st two were with the Army and the latter with the Marines.  the latter not as powerful but probably easier for infantry to schlep around.

Haven't fired many esoteric weapons. But I did get my hands on an M1 carbine years ago. Sold my rifles. I never liked automatic pistols and still have a beautiful .38 Colt and my five round S&W. Lost my desire to shoot game.

Bremmer's the anti-doc.  He writes everything in lower case.  Slide sometimes forwards me his newsletters.

Stanford's 2022 class is shaping up pretty well, but if you want to feel bad about how things are going, per 247's rankings, Ohio State has no current commits with fewer than 4 stars, Clemson's only recruit with fewer than 4 stars is a kicker, and < 20% of Alabama's class has fewer than 4 stars.  The uber elite teams that consistently get to the playoff just recruit in a different world from Stanford, and I don't see that getting better with the NIL deals now happening.
