Amazing game! I’m curious to hear from anyone who was at the game as to what the environment was like. Although it was downplayed a bit but their seemed to be an intensity or maybe a competitive animosity that strayed into the supporters of each side. When T State went ahead Bobcats and fans exploded, but when Stanford struck back it seemed kinda personal. Not trying to stir anything I just felt super intensity.

I was at the Saturday game and both Sunday games. Day crowd Sunday calm but the two night games sell outs or close and crowd really into it. No clue about fans of the teams interacting poorly.
Of course the dude behind home plate was very intense and very weird.

On TV you could hear the crowd chanting "Eddie, Eddie" when Park batted after the two homers, it sounded incredibly loud.

There was one fan in particular who was at all the games. I was there all weekend. He sat right behind home plate and was jawing a lot. Nothing negative but he was pissing people off because he was loud. He wore a white cowboy hat. Last night they brought some security guards to talk to him and someone from the press box came out to talk to him as well. He was pissing off the UCSB fans on Sunday. 

Funny, I guess Esquer's brother played his college ball at UCSB. He was there with UCSB attire sitting near the Stanford dugout. I heard someone ask him why, he said he would win either way, but was representing his school and program.

Stanford will be hosting a super regional for the first time since 2003!!! In 2003, Stanford beat Long Beach St in the super regional and went all the way to the CWS championship game before losing to Rice.

Since 2003, Stanford has played at
2006 - Corvallis, lost to OSU
2008 - Fullerton, beat CSU Fullerton
2011 - Chapel Hill, lost to UNC
2012 - Tallahassee, lost to FSU
2014 - Nashville, lost to Vanderbilt
2019 - Starkville, lost to Mississippi St
2021 - Lubbock, beat Texas Tech

Stanford has never lost a super regional at home, winning in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.

To add to what has been said about the team's performance on Monday, Pancer played a key role in getting the final out with two runners on base.  What stood out to me was the support that Montgomery received from his teammates and from the coaches after he gave up the go ahead hit, his teammates came through for him even before the bottom of the 9th comeback.

Right after that regional, they hosted Washington for the Super Regional, and the Dawgs won in a fashion that was about as epic as our game last night.  I think that Super Regional might have broken the Titans.  And that was Washington's first Super Regional and then first CWS in program history, all less than two weeks after I relocated to the Puget Sound area.  How's that for an omen?

Well the dude kept calling for security for one thing. He stood often so people behind him either moved or couldn’t see
Then there was the guy near me who got up to shut him up. I headed him off but another distraction to the games. Yes this guy worse
