Is it someone named Farrell, or O'Farrell?

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 04-27-2021

Drysdale or Spahn.

Which of these Hall of Fame pitchers have a career ERA under 3.00?

Fergie Jenkins
Greg Maddux
Lefty Grove
Babe Ruth
Dizzy Dean
Bob Feller
Carl Hubbell
Bob Feller

RE: Sports trivia thread - BostonCard - 04-27-2021

You like Feller so much you included him twice?  I don't think he's a sub-3 ERA though.

I would guess Ruth, Dean, and Hubbell.  Pretty sure Maddux and Feller are nos.  Not sure about Jenkins.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 04-27-2021

Warren Spahn leads with 35

Ruth and Dean my guesses

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 04-27-2021

Ruth and Hubbell.

BC, you are an ageist. LOL.

My guess is all of them.

3.16 for Maddux

Four players have drawn more than 2000 walks in their careers.  Who?

In the 1961 All Star game at Candlestick, who was called for a balk, because he was blown off the mound by a gust of wind?

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 04-28-2021

Stu Miller wasn’t blown off the mound... when in doubt print the legend.

Look above Mick... Ruth and Hubbell.

2,000 walks:

Bonds
Ruth
Rose
Williams

RE: Sports trivia thread - BostonCard - 04-28-2021

Bonds, Ruth and Williams are correct. Rose has 1566.  Missing one.

On Stu Miller:

Of course, you probably have the film.

I was there loading mags for my father.

Jimmie Foxx, Hank Aaron, Rickey Henderson... guys played a long time.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 04-28-2021

I’ll go Ricky as the 4th

RE: Sports trivia thread - BostonCard - 04-28-2021

Yup, Ricky Henderson is the 4th.

I pitched in over 1150 games in MLB and finished 363 games in 19 seasons. I started just one game. Who am I?

RE: Sports trivia thread - BostonCard - 04-28-2021

Jesse Orosoco?  He holds the record for most appearances by a pitcher, but I think he played longer than 19 seasons.

BC

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 04-28-2021

Jesse Orosco from a previous question of most games pitched ??

RE: Sports trivia thread - BostonCard - 04-28-2021

Jesse Orosoco was my wrong answer for Phogge's question of who "pitched in over 1150 games in MLB and finished 363 games in 19 seasons. I started just one game."

It's the only other pitcher to have over 1150 appearances, but since I peaked, I won't say.

RE: Sports trivia thread - Giants - 04-28-2021

Who is the last pitcher to pitch 10 or more shutouts in one season?

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 04-29-2021

Mike Stanton was the pitcher with one start.

Koufax for Giants question.
