Several Stanford players and alumnae are in the AVP Denver "Contender" event. (Many of the top teams are competing in an FIVB event.)
Incoming frehsman Logan Tusher entered the qualifier but went 0-1. Rising sophomore Clara Stowell went 2-0 in the qualifier, but 0-2 in pool play.
Alum Charlie Ekstrom (with Katie Lindstrom) was seeded 11th and finished tied for 9th (went 1-1 in pool, 0-1 in elimination round).
Recent grad Xolani Hodel (with Kahlee York) was seeded 7th, went 1-1 in pool, and so far 1-0 in the elimination bracket. They play in the quarterfinals tomorrow morning.
ETA: Hodel & York won the first set, but then lost the second and third, finish tied for 5th.

Sunday, Clara Stowell (rising sophomore) and Taylor Wilson (rising senior) won the "CBVA Premier Tour $2000 Women's Open" in Santa Barbara.

Incoming freshmen Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher won the BVCA U18 National Championship.
And Avery Jackson took second (with Vivian Johnson).

Xolani Hodel and Kahlee York (seeded 5th) made it the finals of the AVP "Waupaca Boatride" (in Oshkosh), but lost 18-21, 21-19, 12-15 (to the #3 seed, Kan & Sours). They beat the #4 and #1 seeds to get there.
I watched most of the final on the live stream. I think Hodel could find a better partner (not that York was bad, but she doesn't serve tough, and mostly hits soft shots).

Kelly Belardi & Clara Stowell won the CBVA Santa Monica Open on Sunday.
Ruby Sorra and Emma Morris were knocked out in the quarterfinals (tied for 5th).
Ashley Vincent (with Ella Connor) and Brooke Rockwell (with Piper Ferch) finished tied for 3rd place.
Sophie Kubiak (with Quinn Perry) went 1-3 in pool play (tied 21st).

Daria Gusarova and Phoenix Clarke tied for 3rd place in the CBVA Open at Santa Cruz yesterday.
Each earned a AA rating.

Incoming freshman Charlotta Bell and 2025 recruit Elena Fisher are on the USA's U19 World Championship team:

Several Stanford players (Belardi, Wilson, Rockwell, Doucett) were training with Holly McPeak (and others) today (seen in McPeak's IG reels).
Recent grads Xolani Hodel and Charlie Ekstrom are in the main draw (separately) of the Manhattan Beach Open this weekend (via previous qualifier events). Several current players (Taylor Wilson, Clara Stowell, Kelly Belardi, Chloe Hoffman, Emma Morris, Brooke Rockwell) are in the on-site qualifier (Thursday).

None of the Stanford players or alumna made it through the qualifier. Belard & Hoffman went 2-1, as did Rockwell. Morris and Wilson: 1-1.
Main draw starts tomorrow, streams on the Bally app.

I didn't see any of the first round matches, but apparently Klineman & Ross looked a little rusty (only their second event this year). They lost -17, -17 to the #28 seed. They fall into the contenders' bracket.
OTOH, both Ekstrom and Hodel scored upsets. Esp. #26 Ekstrom/Lindstrom beating #7 Denaburg/Kraft (-18, -19).
In the next round Hodel/York take on the Olympians, Cheng & Hughes.

Or she could design her own major. :)

Last year, Ruby Sorra won the Canada Beach Volleyball U20 championship.
This year she competed at the "senior" level (i.e., not in a youth/age group) with defender Kayla Law-Heese. In the championship match, they won the first set, lost the second, and jumped out to a lead in the third. But then their opponents (Belanger & Monkhouse) went on a run, and Sorra/Law-Heese never recovered. So they got silver. (I don't think the Canadian Olympians were in this competition.)

I expect Sorra will be half of the #1 Stanford team this spring, maybe with Wilson or Rockwell.

Ruby Sorra and Kayla Law-Heese won their qualifier match yesterday to make the main draw in the FIVB "Futures" event in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It's mostly US and Canadian team, with a few Europeans. (This is a lower tier, "development" event.)
Today they went 2-0 in modified pool play, and placed into the quarterfinals.
Grad Xolani Hodel and Jade Race were seeded 6th, and also went 2-0.

My apologies to another class of '26 recruit, Ofure Odigie, who is also representing Canada on the their second women's team at the U19 championship, with Calinda Kok.
Ruby Cochran posted quite a bit about the long journey to the Shangluo, China, with her partner, Sophie Hancock. Competition starts 8/27.
