Wow. Nice to see this year's Nebraska can be beaten. Can Stanford move up to #1 or will voters still put Nebraska higher for having won the early season head to head at Maples?
Checking Volleytalk, the match thread is at 89 pages and growing.

NCAA updated RPI after Wisconsin sweep over Nebraska:

Nebraska #1, Stanford #2, Pitt #3, Louisville #4, Wisconsin #5
I would give Wisconsin the #4 seed overall because I think they and Nebraska are the two best teams. I'm not 100% certain the committee will knock Louisville out of the #4 RPI position. The B1G announcers were 100% certain Wisconsin would be a regional host. Louisville SOS rank #3 with Wisconsin at #15.

Great crowd here for senior night versus Cal. Too bad Cal is such a weak opponent these days. It's 25-13 25-17 so far.
Tufuga got a start at middle as senior recognition, and has played two whole sets so far. She got a couple of kills and a block.

Not so nice: at 15-15 (!) in set 3, Tufuga got hit in the face with a hard blocked ball and went to the locker room. Francis came in for her.
She's back out on the sidelines now and seems okay.
19-16 Stanford after Cal fails on a challenge.

Final score is a sweep, 25-13 25-17 25-19.

Good job Troy. You are my favorite PAC-12 announcer.

While Hambly has been doing a great coaching job, I think he could have worked Blyashov and Harvey into the first two sets last night. Blyashov and Harvey have to feel somewhat dissatisfied with their playing time this season. Their practice efforts should have been rewarded with time on the court when feasible.
To get better Cal needs to recruit some nationally elite athletes. I'm not sure they have the coaching staff in place to grab the best players. Maybe the Cal name will be enough. I suspect Cal will save money and make the interim head coach the permanent head coach rather than do an extensive search for a big-name coaching personality.
Edit: I was wondering if Blyashov is eligible for redshirting.

Blyashov has been injured and now if healthy possible , I have no facts, could be redshirting

She has played in five matches, all in the first half of the season (first three to start the season, and the Arizona & ASU home matches). So if she has had a "season-ending" injury, she would be eligible for a medical redshirt.

Thanks John.

In the past month someone must have noticed if Blyashov was participating in pre-game warmup drills (i.e. hitting line, pepper, etc.) or sitting out the warmup at home games.
Here's what I have a hard time accepting. Blyashov in her senior year was the star player on her high school team and her club team, both of which won national championships. Her high school team went 42-0. She was the team captain of her club team for four years. She was MaxPreps Player of the Year.
And you can't find a minute or two of playing time for her in the last half of the season? I hope she doesn't have a Betts-like outlook about playing time.

My last game was the Oregon state game where Blyashov sort of participated in pre game. Of course she may not have been injured or could be something else
No more chalk talks so maybe we will learn at the banquet

While I agree with you that Harvey and Blyashov could have played more in certain matches, I think both young ladies came to Stanford knowing that playing time will be very minimal in their freshman year. Harvey will start next season ant the RS and Blyashov and Kurt mwill compete for OH2. My money is on Blyashov starting as the 2nd OH. Stanford women’s volleyball team is top notch and there are top players who still value the great education that Stanford offers. Blyashov is one of them. She knows her playing time is coming.

BLYASHOV is in a similar situation as Caitie BAIRD when the latter was a freshman at Stanford. BAIRD was even ranked higher,
being the #2 recruit in the nation in 2018, ahead of KIPP who was #3 overall.

The latest hypothetical bracket:
https://volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/96871/final-2023-bracketology
still has Stanford as the #2 overall seed, with Texas, Purdue and BYU the other seeded teams. Stanford would open against Fresno State, the MWC champions.
