Media time out, up 15-13
Elia Rubin been heating up with some great kills
Harvey with a back row attack caught them off guard
Lots credit to our team to come back to take a 6 point lead in this game
Sayer as effective as Andrew on that slide kill
Sayer on fire
H.uge win game 2!
Such impressive comeback from game 1

This site, like our hopes for winning the match, keeps fading on me.....

Felt like we had control most of set 2 until the end. Game of momentum. I think it’s turned against us.

Same here. One hopes it’s simply lots of traffic on this site.

Colyer for Wisconsin might get to 30 kills. Defense has not been elite. Our libero has struggled all game.

Disagree with the all game. Tough first set for sure

Down 20-23, Stanford wins 2 points in a row--that last point was insane. Wisconsin timeout. C'mon Card!
Not meant to be, Wiscy wins 25-22. Thanks to Elia Rubin and anyone else for whom this was their last game wearing a Cardinal uniform.

Really - having to come from behind almost all match long, and our related proclivity for spotting opponents 0-1 deficits to start, was a bit too much against this talented opponent. Congrats to Elia, Anna and the team for a really great season and looking forward to 2026.

The 3 aces in a row at the end of the third set was the difference. As others noted, won the set and completely shifted momentum.
Tough passing day for Rubin. Also, I have never seen a team fail to finish as many free balls at the net as we saw today.

Hit 378 and still lost. Hard to be too upset. Far more upset for the players and coaches
Best to Elia and Anna. Pro VB and Med school for the pair
See you at the Banquet

Sadly, this quote was prescient.

I do think this team was good enough to win this match and get to the Elite 8 but that was probably the ceiling. Not a Final 4 team this year. Congrats to the seniors on great careers especially Rubin. Lots of development from our young team throughout the season. Reminder that we are very young. Hoping that young nucleus stays together and hey maybe we will go find some elite transfer in the portal this offseason! Who knows.

Bad day to be a number 2 seed. All four no. 2 seeds lost, the latest being a reverse sweep of LOU by TAM.

Wow. So much for seeding.

On a volleyball message board a BYU fan said Hambly is talking to BYU about the open head coaching position. I'll translate that for you.
BYU called up Hambly in a Hail Mary desperation attempt to turn their flailing WVB program around. Hambly took the call and that's probably about it. Hambly might use a big money (they do have money) offer to negotiate with Stanford but I don't think that's his style. BYU has an even smaller subset of elite WVB players to chose from then Stanford.
